And neither should they, it's happening far too often now - at some point, they'll simply have to cut teams off and expel them, if nothing else, as a warning to others, because it's getting ridiculous now, every year it seems there is at least 2 or 3 clubs teetering on the edge of bankruptcy

All this is inevitable with the Premier league, the rich get richer the poor get poorer. Bournemouth paying Wilson 100k a week says it all.

Can expect the same thing will apply to us very soon from the EFL

I'm not so sure it will.

What the EFL statement says that...

following an insolvency event, to be served with a notice of withdrawal of membership which, once issued, will give the Club 14 days to meet all outstanding requirements of the League’s insolvency policy or its membership in the EFL may be terminated.

Well we would have got the same when we were put into Administration.

It goes on to say...

The [EFL] Board has suspended the activation of this notice initially until close of business today (25 July) in order to give the Club additional time to provide the outstanding information it has requested on a number of occasions, which includes the means of payment of outstanding football creditor debts and source and sufficiency of funding.

So basically although the notice is given it is immediately suspended to allow the club to come up with a plan to pay the creditors, and is acceptable to the EFL.

Well FV have done that, it appears that although asked for the information from Bury several times, that they have not.

They go on to say that even if they don't get the required information from Bury that they may well give them a further extension in order to do so.

There is a second issue the EFL talk about which is whether the ground has a safety certificate and/or have staff to man the ground for the matches - even then the EFL talks about to SUSPEND club fixtures until they are able to do so.

In fact it looks as though the EFL are bending over backwards to help Bury but have had to start the 14 day period to prompt them into getting the required information the EFL wants to see from them as soon as possible.

As I've said FV have done that.

If however they walk away, there is no time for anyone else to step into their shoes.

FV have done that - but as they don't own the club - then I imagine the EFL will be seeking assurance from administrators before next weekend if FV are not in control by then.

No they won't.

The Administrator has stated his position in his report, namely the company is insolvent and he intends to liquidate it.

He's keeping the company alive simply to facilitate the sale of the club.

He's completed the process of offering the club for sale and only one offer was made - by FV.

FV's proposal was agreed by the EFL and presumably involved the purchase of the hotel.

The EFL statement to Bury talks about possibly SUSPENDING club fixtures.

It may seem that one outcome of the process that hasn't been known to us before is that the EFL may be amenable to suspend one or two of our games until the outcome of ownership of the hotel is resolved.

I'm sure everyone would prefer things to be sorted before the start of the season though.

If FV fail, the Administrator will immediately start the liquidation of the Company which means the end of BWFC as we know it.

And the league will not want us to have started the season and then be liquidated. Their view will be one of protecting the league - that is I think the concern. That in effect the start of the season has always been seen as a deadline. The administrators acknowledged that in their report that a deal needed to be completed ahead of the season.

We won't have started the season if our games had been suspended would we?

The Administrators (plural) haven't agreed that in their reports, the football club one has but the hotel one (even though he states the hotel is intrinsically linked to the football club in his report) hasn't by his actions of commencing with a sale procedure that extends into the opening weeks of next season.

I'm sure no one will want to see FV fail and would love them to complete before the season starts but unless the Hotel Administrator re-evaluates his position on the hotel and the best interests of its creditors - then that may not be able to be met.

No doubt we will all see soon enough.

If our games are suspended then no. But can you see the league doing that? I could see it for one game - if we said "deal will be done on Wednesday 100%". The problem is that nobody can provide a clear and unambiguous timescale or a guarantee that the deal will be done at all. To my mind. If Quantuma are genuinely running a sale process - and insist on doing so there is no guarantee that FV will win said process. Nor a cast iron guarantee for when the process will end.

Has our ground actually got a safety certificate as of yet, I know we had the Rod Stewart Concert but we've had no pre season games at the stadium.

Believe rugby semi finals are on this weekend so must have
