Esco and I have exchanged many messages

He knows his stuff and based on his experiences he couldn't see it happening

Nobody wanted it more than him

I'm sure he will say it's a tribute to rubins and FV that it got over the line

Aye, fair play to him, just that he nearly had me slitting my wrists in the last few days

I’m about to go to sleep with the most peaceful, relaxed mind I reckon I’ve had in 3 years.

Every day and night seems to have been spent arguing the toss about the club, worrying about the club and head getting completely frazzled with the daily sagas.

Literally every single day something happened, a twist in the tale, a note from the chairman, a winding up order, a journalist banned, on and on and on...hour after hour pacing up and down my kitchen on my phone, sat at kids swimming on my phone, sat in the van at work during a storm on my fucking phone.

Now its all over. Hardly seems real but what a fucking nightmare it’s been for us all. Not just the past few worrying days, weeks or months in admin. The whole sorry saga from the moment Eddie signed the club over. It’s been a fucking trauma and a journey unlike anything else I’ve seen in football, from the bizarre to the down right ridiculous.

But we are still fucking here folks. We made it. We lived to tell the tale. And what a bloody tale it will be.

Goodnight folks... it’s been emotional. Xx

Fuck me gonzo for a window cleaner you can't half write some emotional prose!

Onwards and upwards.

We may drop down a league but hopefully, drama wise we've bottomed out!

I fully agree

Custard will be made up tonight, just like everybody else with the whites in their heart

There will be plenty of Wigan fans not wishing us to go bust, it's just they don't feel the need to comment.

Think some folk need to remember this after what we've been through, cue abuse.

Totally agree.  I know loads of Wigan fans and none of them would want us, or any club, to go bust.  All those genuine people who happen to be Bury fans that have been on radio and TV, can you really have hate for them just because some 14 year olds have chanted anti-BW songs or posted stuff?  Get a grip and stop listening to kids and nasty people who are a stain on our national game.  And yes, we have our fair share of not rights.  Just think about genuine employees, fans, old folk and young kids having a club to support for generations to come, not the idiots who tarnish society never mind football.

Reet.

Earlier on I couldn't make my mind up between being upset (really wet-eyed upset) for Bury, and being sky high happy for us.

Now I've had time to think, fuck me if I was so upset for Bury, and all it entails, what would I have been like if it had been us? I'd always thought something would turn up, I've always believed that is what the last minute is for, something turning up.

Really though, that was nearly us gone. We'll never ever have a closer shave.

Well said.  I was so pissed off all day about Bury that it definitely took a bit of something away from the joy of our news.  Ridiculous I know, but if you got a promotion at work on the same day a colleague got made redundant, you dont go around shouting the odds.  I just wish our news had come a few days earlier, and dont mistake this for being absolutely chuffed to bits.  I dont think any of us will ever take this club for granted ever again, our near death experience ending on the same day a local club disappears, how could we.

Not when Sky tell us to kick off at 7.45.  And not when we're playing Bradford.  No way is that set in stone.

Fucking hell. What a post. Exactly how I feel too. It’s been a strain. It sounds odd but often I’ve struggled to sleep thinking about it. It’s only a football club...but it means more than I knew.

I think what's hit home to me in the last 6 months, here and Bury, is that its absolutely not just a football club.  Its a massive part of the community, people's routines, friendships, hopes and dreams.  We dont see the team play for 3 months in the summer but it still dominates our lives.  Its all reborn tonight.

I'd love us to be able to do something for bury

Fear it would seem very patronising

Not really

Things have changed

We’re in unchartered waters and personally I’d love it if they were saved and our game went ahead.

We could organise a game on the same day against their U12s and smash the cunts

So far behind with this. Just come out of a late business meeting. Overjoyed!! My first thoughts were obviously how happy I am am that we have a club. But then I’ve read so much shite from Wigan, Leeds, etc that almost immediately my second thought is.......to all those cunts that were happy thinking that we were gone.....well we’re not. Heeeeeeeeere’s Johnny!! We are back!!!!

Nearly three years on another forum telling folk that I suspect Anderson is only here to screw us over for personal gain, that I  believe he doesn't give a monkey's about BWFC and that all his media output was bullshit and finally....finally I feel OK -ish about it. Unfortunately it's tainted with sadness. Sadness that the bastard has got away with it and that the ED Trust had no choice but capitulate in order to save "Eddie's legacy" (their view?)  rather than be liquidated by Anderson. But more than anything I am relieved that we survived Anderson albeit a lot poorer - and we still don't know how much more money he took out of the business in the last two years. And angry. There is no way that people like Anderson and Dale should be let anywhere near a football club. Over the moon that we survived but this should never happen to any club and something's gotta change.

As for the new owners we'll see  but I'm hopeful they'll do a good job with what is left of our club.
