As I mentioned, I think embargo is the maximum penalty

New owners would claim mitigating circumstances

Can't see it coming to that

Heard anymore whispers since the other day? What order do you have the potential buyers in now?

Come to think of it, H's "belief" that. Bassini was going to come through on Friday and assertions that he has financial backers are the only reason anyone's giving Bassini's "interest" any credibility.

Would also explain H's confidence in saying the backers were money launderers - you can't slander someone who doesn't exist.

I understand what you mean, but it seems like bit of a stretch.

Bassini was first reported by Nixon, Howard acted like he knew he was involved (I could be wrong about this, but the way he said it/how I read it, it seemed that way) and said he's purposely been given that information and that it's a red herring. He then went on to say how Bassini couldn't afford it and then up next was that he must have backers, who may have certain needs to wash big money.

Then in his last message, he said he's leaving because he expects Bassini to complete the deal, after coming up with multiple reasons why his bidders might face yet another delay this week.

I know he is PR and is pushing an agenda, but how do you explain going from: 1) Red herring, false info. 2) Well, even if not, he doesn't have the money. 3) He has backers from Thailand, they have money and a lot of them from those parts like to launder. 4) Expecting him to complete.

Yes, Howard giving credence to it being completed probably perked a few people up, but the reality is, we were told by Nixon nearly 2 weeks ago it was due for completion in 48 hours. And then by Ken a few days later when wages were due. Then again in court.

I think we'll find something out this week, and I also do think Bassini is/was brought in to give anyone else interested a kick up the arse so they get a move on.

A question to a few of the people still clinging on to H's story for dear life. What happens when Tuesday/Wednesday passes and still nothing has happened? Surely not going to just accept the fact Bassini is throwing millions at people so they don't get involved, but can't provide proof of funds?

According to the Bolton News https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/17557094.efl-provide-bolton-with-cash-advance-to-get-ipswich-game-played/

Club were advanced monies by the EFL and Michael James in order to get the Ipswich game on

If that is correct it would suggest to me that a deal must be close as I cannot imagine the latter in particular advancing anything to a business that is about to be liquidated

I'm with the people  who don't think the legal system/football authorities will allow a club of Bolton's stature to be liquidated for the relatively small amount of money involved. The worst thing that can happen is for it to drag on for another season or two with transfer embargoes and points deductions.Ken will be allowed to run the club into the ground a la Oyston but not liquidate us

I am hoping to see some closure today, I honestly think if no deal is announced today then that's it, it's over to Hs lot

Isn't that what we want? no info today and Howard's men to do the business tomorrow?

I know its just hope at this moment in time, but surely H's lot are a better option than Bassini (should they still be around)?

Don't think the notice period ends until 16:30 Tuesday, going off H's posts, and Bassini's money has to be transferred before the Banks close 15:30 Tuesday.

So there will be at least 2 days of possible twists and turns, or then again may well be nothing happens at all.

Just a little thought that seems to have been generally overlooked.

Its thanks to Howard that we now know that the £2.5m that the Firth of FIBS claimed was a foul and festering falsehood when Ken claimed that he had funds available, if necessary, was actually true after all. And we also know that Uncle Eddie was  the source of those funds (and a bit more besides) and that after borrowing the money from Eddie, Ken put it into the club wholly unsecured until 27 September 2018.

Some of the more observant may have noticed how silent FIBS and others have been over the £5m. Blumarble loan, only £4m of which was actually received and which was fully secured against the stadium and due for repayment within not much more than a fortnight with default interest at 24% p.a.

When KA contemplates the way he now jumps, I hope he'll think first and foremost about the loyal permanent staff, the unpaid creditors and the spirit of Eddie Davies.

That only mentions they stumped up cash for the Ipswich game, but the reports last week said the safety notice had been lifted to the end of the season.   So are they going to (or already have) be giving money for the Boro game tomorrow to go ahead as well?

The football authorities don’t have any legal right to stop a liquidation. I don’t see why the courts would be minded to, plenty of British institutions worth more to the wider public have gone to pot in recent years.

Are you on drugs or just on a wind up? He thinks so much of the loyal staff he can't be bothered to even contact them to explain why he's not paying them. That is an absolute basic that even the most reprehensible people can manage.

seems to me there's only 2 outcomes likely (because if Bassini could do it, it woud've happened)

so Howard's lot get the shares, or KA liquidates

and he's already told Vince @ FGR the latter scenario doesn't bother him, financially speaking

so am a bit worried right now

If they even exist. If they even have the means to do it. And if you believe word for word what has been said....

I personally think that Mike James will be working on something in the background - perhaps Basran's bid with some extra investors in play? My worry is, as you say, I reckon Ken would liquidate us without a shred of worry.

I think it there is no completion today then KA panics. I honestly think Bassini is just a tactic to set off panic from other potential investors and by the looks of it, it hasn't worked. Howards final post last week seemed, to me at least, that he had one intention in mind and that was to unsettle KA. He said himself he knows KA reads the posts on this forum. It was his way of telling KA that Hs lot were not going to play his game

I base my assumption they do exist on the understanding that KA got more time by challenging the share recall in court, regards the letter being sent to the wrong address

admitedly I only read about that on here,  but it would presumably you could find out if that scenario really happened or not

if that did happen, it fits, if it didn't, then it's bleaker than I thought

howard's narrative fit far more than anything anyone else has put forward on here, so think some parts of it must be on the right lines
