cant understand why it will take that long in my eyes you want the club YES ok sign here club is yours,

The pattern seems to be:

1. Promise deadline A.

2. Exceed deadline A.

3. Make less specific deadline B.

4. Just about meet deadline B.

I guess it all depends on how clear the HoT are and what is left to sort out. Also the hotel may play a part in how long it takes, whether they want to just take the club and crack on or if they want to make sure they have everything first

Probably the same as yesterday. The naming of the preferred bidder and the signing of a Heads of Terms agreement won't prevent Bassini from making an application for an injunction.

Bassini said he'd made the biggest bid. The administrators have now said FV did, if I've understood correctly.

On that basis, Bassini and his mother scuttling pr person are just moonmen and won't even get to court.

No doubt he's a moon man and it will probably come to nothing. But if he can prove that his bid might have been bigger, the administrators' comments in today's statement aren't definitive.

I don't think the situation today is any different to what it was yesterday.

Legal position is as follows

The administrator is an officer of the court

Bassini may have made biggest bid but he could only challenge on a point of law

Even if he did make the biggest bid, he isn't deemed fit and proper by the EFL so his bid is voided

Any further delay would put the future of the club at risk so the administrator has no case to answer

Bassini is full of shit

All well and good. But that would also have been the position all along. Today's statement is irrelevant to whether Bassini will or won't make an application for an injunction because, presumably, the positions of both parties (Bassini and the administrators) remain the same today as they did yesterday and in the weeks preceding.

And do we know that he didn't meet the EFL's approval second time around?

Know?

No

Strongly suspect?

Yes

Point is, the administrator ain't some wet behind the ears cretin,  and he's confident there's no case to answer

That's good to hear. I don't think he'll be successful if he initiated legal action but people seem to think that this latest statement means we've heard the last of him when it doesn't. He's as capable of taking his claim to the High Court today as he was when the story broke yesterday.

this part of the statement suggest Bassini is full of shit:

"Football Ventures made the highest offer by a substantial margin"

This part is where Bassini fell down before:

"able to show absolute proof and source of funding to match the requirements of the process. "

so fuck him

Yes it does. But he can still try and prevent the sale from going ahead, just like he could yesterday. The statement changes nothing in that respect. But anyway, hopefully in a few days' time it'll all be done and we can start talking about which players we'll be signing for our play-off push!

He can try all he wants, the administrators have clearly set their stall out and it’s not as if they have any sort of vested interest in terms of who the buyer is, only the one that fulfils the criteria, and that clearly doesn’t seem to be Bassini.

I know that. I'm not concerned that he'll be successful, it was just that people were reacting to this latest statement as though it's something meaningful. I'm just pointing out that it isn't and he can still try and make things difficult, no matter how futile his efforts would ultimately be.

It’s absolutely meaningful because it dismisses Bassini’s claim in one swoop.

Bassini and the administrators would both have known each other's opinions on his bid all along. All that statement does is confirm to us the administrators' views. It has no bearing on whether Bassini will or won't pursue a legal claim.

The administrators are essentially a neutral party, they’re not arsed about who it goes to other than the one that fulfils the necessary criteria. With no vested interest, I take their angle as pretty much gospel at this stage.

I’d like hear more detail, that statement is as bare bones as it gets, in fact it’s piss poor.

It's a piss poor statement?

What did you want/expect them to say?

If Bassini is indeed full of shit surely it’s men in white coats time for him?

I wonder who is putting him up to it. He clearly doesn’t mind acting the dick.

Still think he's pals with KA, it's the only logical explanation

So do I. I'm not arguing that he'll be successful, I'm just arguing that if he intended to pursue a legal claim yesterday, that statement won't make one jot of difference as to whether he can or will continue to pursue it. That's all.
