Hmmmm, cheap tickets.

OK, so we currently lose money, so let's half the cost of tickets, meaning you have to effectively double the crowd to stand still financially?

No because you'd make more money from food, drinks and club merchandise. You have more flexibility with a big crowd.

According to the local Stoke newspaper former Port Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite is looking at our situation as possible new owner.

Who, from what I can gather, is essentially Ken, only with added oatcakes.

The point of percentages is that it doesn't matter on size of the fanbase as we're looking into relative decline.

Sunderland are the closest to us having been a premiership side and then slipping to league one and having ownership issues.

I’d say Blackburn were.

As covered above it’s a long term idea. Will hurt for first couple of years. BWFC do nothing to encourage people on. That’s the gamble that it will hurt but could be massive for next 10 20 years if done right. Other clubs similar to ours are reaping the benefit

Can't be us, their headline involves the term "League One giants".

In our second year out of the premiership (where we were in the championship not league one) we averaged 16.1K.

Which is 69% of our average premiership crowd in the relegation season. Still way below Sunderland and we were a division higher.

Our fans are not that loyal. I don't know how to spell this out any clearer.

There are so many reasons why the attendance discrepancies exist.

Describing folk as disloyal really is a sad comment, quite a few use it. It is to be hoped that any future owners don't adopt a similar high handed approach.

BOLTON. Plot thickens. A foreign group shown round ground yesterday. Poss contenders to buy once goes into admin.

from Nixon

This plot is already thicker than the average Blackburn Rovers fan, just how much thicker can one get?

Swansea selling a nobody winger for £15m.

Our failure to generate consistent high value player sales over the last 10 years has really screwed us over.

so many other clubs are living day to day by selling shite players for inflated figures

I wasn't criticising people. Look at it as a whole. Our ceiling is lower than many and our drop off is higher than many.

There are all sorts of reasons for that. And it doesn't mean we have "shit fans". But the town as a whole perhaps is not able to support a club of the size we might like to think it is in normal circumstances.

The data shows that. Its all about adjusting expectations and getting through this period with a club. But there is no point ignoring things like attendance drop offs. And whilst I fully get why people wouldn't go....abandoning the club now...whilst understandable...is probably not an aid to getting it back together.

Had our duds pulled down and a large slice of wenger schlong inserted in to our bottoms over Holding!

Did we really?

We've taken about £3m (maybe more) for a lad with some promise who'd played 20-odd first team games and was part of the league's worst defence, conceding over 2 goals per game during his run in the team.

He wouldn't be the player he is now, had we not sold him and took him down to League 1 instead.

Circumstance has to be taken into account too. Were we financially stable and top half of championship we could have afforded to hold onto him for a year and hope he improved further and we could have held out for a higher price.

As it was we had to sell. And everyone knew that.

I also think the price we got wasn't far off. Clough we got far more for than he was worth IMO.

Halving prices? Before we even go down that route how about reimbursing the mugs who shelled out up front for the Brentford game?

I think you need to let that go. In grand scheme of things it’s the least of the problems

Hes a nothing winger from the prem.

We haven't got that type of set up with that level of quality.

I would like to see us bin off all the academy etc and go to a similar type that hyde has where you pick up lads released at 18.
