Love it or loathe it, this place self regulates

It's been here 20 years and it's changing all the time

Lots of folk leave cos it changes too much, others leave cos it doesn't change enough

And some stay because they like it just the way it is - #pisstakeways.

God, these no news days are boring!

The administrators have been very efficient since they came in, up until last Friday. Makes me wonder what it is that was so ‘unforeseen’ to have caused such a delay all of a sudden.

They are doing everything far faster than normal. Wigan took months to cocncluse change of control. Near on a year. Relax.

Months doesn’t begin to come close to describing how long it actually took for the Wigan takeover. Well over 12 months from start to finish. ITK and that.

Is it possible either the trust or FV have agreed some sort of bonus for all this to be done quickly?

Seems strange how fast it's all happening, even with this delay. We were looking at other admin teams that had taken 9 months recently.

Administrators at other clubs didn't seem to rush to avoid leaving the first team short or with too little quality.

Would deferring the take over until July mean they don't need to pay any player wages for June? Would save quite a bit of money.  I assume the administrators are still paying staff wages.

If that’s what they’re doing then god help us

But they had a squad and bills were being paid, we’re in a totally different scenario.

Exactly. Every other team are signing players, we were due for a signed HoT last Friday but have heard fuck all for another week.

It's irrelevant.

Players wages are still outstanding for February onwards.

Non payment of players wages equates to them being football creditors.

In order for the new owners to exit Administration all football creditors need to be paid in full.

Clearly there isn't the liquidity in the club's bank account to pay their wages so June's non payment of wages (if the club hasn't come out of Admin by then), will simply be added to their arrears for Feb, March, April and May's.

Fwiw whoever does buy us (which I assume will be FV) would have already have known about the costs of running the club during summer and would have made budget provision for players wages presumably as part of the £25m proof of finance the Administrator required them to produce - so I doubt the debt in players wages as such is increasing month on month, as it should already have been budgeted for.  (What I'm trying to say is that the £25m proof of funds won't be going up each month by the amount of the non payment of  players wages as it would have already been taken into account in the initial total of £25m).

I agree that next season is a huge problem. But that doesn’t change the time it takes to do a deal of this complexity. The administrators and buyers are not at fault, the business should have been put into admin by March and we’d not have this issue.

If it's impossible to sell a football club in less than a few months then the administrators need to get season tickets on sale to  provide some money for new players.

Aye, and if they think I'm turning up and paying on the day for the first time game v Coventry they can fuck off

Chris, this isn’t meant as a dig or anything but what are you actually trying to get at?

I’m no accountant so I’m not going to try and accurately break down numbers.

Maybe the 40 million debt that Nixon refers to is inflated but it doesn’t mean the debt can’t be significant. I don’t know what goods or services have been provided that would rack up such huge debts and I’m a bit lost with howards theory on Ken’s factored millions whether that’s secured or unsecured.

Anyway, my point is, despite selling Madine and increased revenue from promotion, that doesn’t mean significant debt can’t have been built up. Maybe it’s been exaggerated in the media, perhaps running costs were taken into account for the next couple of years when Nixon said 40 million. I really don’t know. I do want to know why you’re being a stickler about it though, as you think it’s significant.

What are the options in your mind?

1. The debt is nowhere near as high as stated therefore maybe people should blame the bidders rather than Ken for not completing a solvent deal.

2. The debt is actually crazy high and therefore Ken has obviously done some shady shit.

I don’t know, I’m just trying to read between the lines of what you’re getting at because you obviously know more than I do about accountancy and such.

do you not agree that with Ken not funding the club for a number of months and the amount of goods and services that a business like Bolton Wanderers must receive could have built up significant unsecured debt. Maybe not 27 million but still a number which FV and others did not want to meet in a solvent sale so they could spend more on the club/land?

Feel free to blast my opinions, I just don’t know exactly what you’re getting at.

I accept your questions are genuine but forgive me if I don't go over old ground again. I don't want to upset WW's several sensitive souls.

Its taken a long time, but has the first crack in the cosy relationship between the Beeno and the ST appeared this morning? Michael James is apparently the white knight that helped pay staff wages in April. How long has the esteemed Mr Iles been sitting on that one and why's he published it now?

Top effort by Michael James paying some of the hotel staff salaries in April. If FV do finally take over it’s comforting to know a proper BWFC fan is part of the group.

But Kevin Davies says its a "conflict of interest".

I have literally no words....

to be fair he was only asking the question but agree it didn’t need asking.

Was it Simon Nightingale from the trust that demanded Micheal James be kicked out of the club?
