My interaction with Trust folk (they’re watching this as they’re a bit obsessed with this site) has been most unpleasant on other media. Veiled threats, an inability to debate without toys being thrown out of the pram, and at times then a complete deletion of the interaction by them.

be heard from the inside? Fuck that. Choose the company you keep carefully

I think you are referring to the twitter twats who might be trust members doesn't  mean their opinions are that of the trust board or all trust members. I can get over not agreeing with other fans in the trust if ultimately we have a common goal which is a club to support.

It’s no suprise, it’s common knowledge Bassini having his Michael Knighton moment.

I doubt Bassini will be the new owner either. All thats happened is Ken has put out a message on the website saying Bassini might be the new owner and he has given him some free tickets for the Directors box.It could easily have been a delaying tactic by Ken to get the Aston Villa game on without paying the players.A recent bankrupt could be happy to put on an act for a few days in return for  a few grand

I’m not just talking twitter and I’m not just talking ordinary members

I “joined” v early on when SJM approached our table in the LOV. In fact I think it may have been merely an idea then. It’s not like I’ve not “given them a chance”.

Since then I don’t like what I see/hear so I do not wish to be associated with them

IMHO they had the greatest of opportunities but have wasted it and been divisive. Fairs they give their time and I’m sure most mean well, but they do not speak for me and unless there’s fundamental change they won’t ever.

i don’t think I’m alone

I’m probably close to your point of view as I don’t get involved with the trust, but if it is the last resort for the club to survive then so be it.  The issue I see with the trust is/ was their anti KA stance and many fans did not like that stance,  subsequently I think it’s been proved that they were right to call Anderson out,  they had more info about what he was doing than the normal fan.

Other than that not sure what you found divisive.

They had info that Dean Holdsworth spent a million quid on fees did they? Who told them that and how did they confirm that there was any truth in it?

They had info that KA was going to invest £2m of his own money and still let Holdsworth take half the shares did they? I'd believe in the Easter Bunny before I believed that but who told them that and where is the evidence?

Why, three years later, is the ST  still re-gurgitating this kind of stuff and why does anyone of sound mind swallow it?

It really matters not a jot to where we currently are.

I agree that there are far more important matters than the present composition of the ST and its publicity poodle at the Beeno but the ST claim to represent thousands of supporters who initially subscribed to it in good faith

I expect it won't be long before the ST seek meetings with the new regime. Neither will it be long before the new regime figure out what a waste of time they, and the Beeno, are. Is anyone looking  forward to the fun and games that will then  start all over again?

It was meant in fun as was all off my other 'What have we learned today' post recently but I guess I did leave a big question hanging in the air this time namely, if the ST's ultimate reason for being in existence is primarily to be a backstop/safety net for when everything else has failed and oblivion is staring the club full in the face (and the ST's been in existence now for longer that Anderson was at the club don't forget), then why, when realistically liquidation and going out of existence seemed a very real possibility, have they still not got any sort of emergency survival plan for the club anything like established?

The forum they called on Monday offered no guidance or leadership of ANY realistic rescue plan they had established during all the three years that Anderson has been in control of the club (and let's not fool ourselves, they truly believed he was seriously up to no good - and maybe he even was) and talked at best on the night of some fanciful share scheme for people to invest in that even if it was remotely plausible to achieve their desired aims, would take months possibly even years to establish - when action was required now, immediately, today!

I'm not claiming that coming up with some emergency 'lifeboat' plan to save the club and provide some urgent initial funding to keep it afloat until it can be rescued by others with proper means to do so is easy (or even achievable) but isn't that the reason they are there for, their core raison d'etre?

And if they can't achieve that, or even come up with a Plan A, let alone a Plan B or C after three years, whilst they've fully believed the Devil himself was raping and pillaging the club, then in all honesty what really is the point of their existence, no matter how stanchly they support the club as individuals?  Will they have the life raft ready if everything goes wrong under Mr Bassini's ownership tenure because on the face of it he isn't the most spotless of saviours?

I think not.

My only conclusion therefore from the events of the last several months is that the ultimate purpose of the BWFC ST is NOT to be the clubs financial safety net and ultimate rescuer - it is abundantly clear they can't achieve that role, otherwise they would have been major players in the last few weeks and not be standing impotent on the side lines watching the car crash unfold - but to be a rallying point for people to gather around to start a new phoenix club to rise from the ashes somewhere at the base of the football league pyramid - and if I'm being frank, I think the young boy Jones and the others at the Lion of Vienna would probably be a more natural focal point for the millennial savvy social media generation to gather around and be much more likely body to be successful in doing it too.

I'm not disputing any of your criticisms of them, you know far more than me about what they've done. It was more the tone you adopted than the substance. However I don't want to dwell on it and I've enjoyed your summations of the events of the past few months. It just felt on this occasion that you'd allowed it to get a little personal. Thank you however for a detailed response and you won't hear more from me about it, the sun is shining!

not at all. Not even met stuffy however i do not think the trust is here for fans or the club. I think it’s for a small group of business men to be part of a pissing contest. The fact they used trust money to pay for “events” is embarrassing.

Its daft discussion though. You will always be happy with the trust I will always think they are working for their own benefit. Who is right is yet to be proven but considering they have some money in the account and have never done anything positive with it for the fans I reckon I am more likely to be correct

I don’t follow nightingale no idea what he’s said, but no doubt that’s his personal opinion is not necessarily all board members/ trust members view,   allansons business life is his business and if fans / trust members want him removed then they can vote for someone else.

Who said I was happy with the trust? I am happy that they exist in case there is no other alternative, you got invite to meet the board you didn’t take that opportunity up, I had same opportunity and met them, said my piece and it was well received and taken on board. By the way the trust played a part in the successful game and event well attended by fans and raised money for charity, sponsored a number of players and paid money to get the fanzone back on, maybe if you engaged some of your ideas could be taken forward. Sadly it seems you are entrenched in your opinions and that’s a shame because you’ve plenty to offer.

His business life is his yet KA’s wasn’t his own?

Not saying if their past should have an affect but it’s one rule for one with those lot

I even had a Trust Board member threaten my business life because of posts made on here. Their supporters have done the same to at least one other person I know.

What a bunch of shithouses.

That’s out of order, Kens business life is his own but when he’s fucking our club it becomes our business. He was lauded on here by many, they were wrong the final act is now played out and the trust and those who treated his ownership with more caution have proven 100% correct.

Lauded. Course he was.

for the millionth time he was the only show in town. Don’t imagine anyone said don’t treat with caution.

He played some good moves and many bad.

Fair to say everyone is glad he’s gone. Let’s see what happens next but it’s Like Anewman saying “we are shit and going down”; eventually it will become true....doesn’t mean that view was right at every point in time

come on Mounts, stop being a teenager

I like the concept of a supporter's trust but I don't feel that BWFCST has got the essential ingredient for success which is to bring the fans and community along with them - possibly because it started off poorly, expectations were high and the leadership was/is poor. In mitigation, they are doing it on a voluntary basis, but that said, if there are people out their with a strong business plan and time and money to burn why don't they just set up an alternative Supporter's Trust? I've heard plenty of whingeing about them so if people feel that strongly why don't they do something about it? Moaning about it achieves nothing other than to give Sluffy another thousand paragraphs of bull to compose to fill those drab, lonely, sad  hours.

Portsmouth's ST got over 2,000 members to contribute £1,000, and in about a dozen cases  considerably more, to raise £2.5M.

BWST has never ever seemed likely to approach such figures and do not appear to present a viable ownership group.

Miami can sell some Ghanaian mining company shares, Smiley can shed some XRP and when Jules sprints to victory he can donate his £1,000 charity bet winnings. Sorted.

Anyway

Back to the new owner

All these fcukers moaning about bassini

What's their alternative?

Sell it to somebody equally potless but without a track record of dishonesty and taking millions out of struggling football clubs?

As for the ST, I didn't sign up and still haven't because there was never a clear plan of what that money was going to be spent on. I think in the end a chunk of it was spunked on fancy leaflets (which you'd think would please Sluffy, but hey ho).

It still is a bit messy and without a clear purpose, but I'll never understand why it gets more shit on here than someone like Ken ever did. Even if all they do is pointless down-with-this-sort-of-thing meetings and statements, it's harmless and all being done by people who's hearts seem to be in the right place.

Everything they do is pompous and condescending.

There are people on here who have followed the club for years and a few who may well have offered to help/support but there has been no approach. Add to that their reaction to any challenge and question you should understand the reaction.

They slag the club off for not being open and communicating then do exactly the same themselves.

Do something about it?

Allanson wasn't elected

He was added cos he's mates with someone

If what he's done doesnt bring the trust into disrepute, it says a whole lot about them

And mounts, nightingale said,at the forum, from the front bench, we need to be rid of the likes of James and Warburton

He's either thick as fcuk or not fit for the role

Sounds simple

Wonder why eddie sold to dodgy dean and dodgy Ken sold to dodgy bassini?
