was we led to believe Bassini was paying all wages and bills before EFL ratification? Then pay every thing else owed later.

Let’s hope so. Not confident at all, if he has the money March and April salaries should be settled by April 30th.

So by the end any of these serious better options could have done a deal but chose not to. So the only option in reality was Bassini.

You could phrase it that way, but we have yet to see whether or not we could phrase it along the lines of "Anderson pissed off all the decent options until there was only Bassini left by the time that the finances had been run into the ground and the only remaining choice was between Bassini and liquidation".

Hopefully the full story will come out some day.

Just out of curiosity, what did Eddie fuck all the billionaires off with, to leave himself with only the option of Holdsworth/Anderson ?

If past experience is anything to go by there's  not a cat in hell's chance of anything like 'the full story' coming out in the Beeno, Grauniad, Mirror or Times. So where is it going to come out from?

No, because nobody other than you cares

In fairness to Chris I believe he is only bringing it up because Terrance Rigby from the ST made reference to it on Monday. Rigby appeared to infer that it was genuine costs that DH incurred, which I believe is doubtful. But it appears after backing Deano throughout the dispute with Anderson, trust board members don't want to be seen to be making a U turn.

Another reason why they just aren’t “followable”.

The ST course. And wankers like Smurf on twitter.

Given where we are now I can't see any point in debating DHs or EDs role from three years ago.  The only real function the ST can perform now is to try and come up with a plan to galvanise support and assist whenever possible using their limited powers and influence. The people on the ST Board no matter how good / bad they are viewed are there simply because no one else wants to be, the whole thing needs ripping up and starting again.

For me, should Bassini turn out to be a mirage and the club go into liquidation we need to live on to some extent

That requires a decent level of organisation from the fan base

We need to be brought together by a body of fans, A supporters trust even if it’s not this one

My fear is, the current one has divided fans too much and we won’t be able to unite effectively enough to bounce back. Given our history / following it would be a very sad state of affairs if we can’t get together to organise something

What’s the alternative to the ST that can unite our fan base should the worst happen?

They would probably need to stand down en masse & a new board organised .Not that easy but maybe involve Brett Warby & Peter James in the intitial stage so that the organisation would have some real stakeholders on board assuming of course they wanted to be involved,  maybe in a life or death situation they would rarther than see the club wiped out.

If they’d wanted to they’d have done it.It’s one thing to say you are interested another to actually do it when you see the level of debt. We may still find out that this is a problem for Bassini.

But let’s be serious. Nobody was queuing up to buy us. The Trust’s fantasy bullshit is worthless in the real world.

What if they'd both wanted to, and Bassini as well?

Reform the existing ST from within.

Tetlow said elections coming up.

Possibly engaging supporters association and invite all supporters forums and season ticket holders to a meeting to see if there is a way forward. It really is time all fans dropped there issues and pulled in the same direction.

If warby and james got involved I'd back it 100%

It was on the market for months. ED was trying to sell for years.

All ED got was Bolton’s answer to del boy and Rodney. All KA got was  bloke who pulled out when the bill arrived and Bassini.

Of course the Trust will peddle the line that there are ‘high net worth’ individuals who will invest billions if only ED/KA weren’t here. If you can’t see through that agenda....then you are incredibly naive.

ED sold it for a quid to keep it going. KA sold for very little it seems too. They haven’t don’t that because there were billionaires queuing up to buy it.

Billionaires or Bassini again. It's a fake argument. It's not about demanding we get a Saudi Prince to buy us, it's about not sacking Jimmy Saville as your babysitter, hiring Gary Glitter and expecting things to be ok.

I've said multiple times that I don't believe Gaspard & Basran had the funds to clear the debts, but it's pretty obvious Bassini doesn't either. We don't know anything about why their bids were unsuccessful, and so stating Bassini was the only show in town as a fact, just isn't true.
