I'm hearing that acquiring the hotel is a part of the FV plan

That isn't proving easy

Not sure how that fits with Iles reporting of the delay

I think we should flatten the reebok, develop the site and buy Gigg Lane

Why not get the rest of the deal done and worry about the hotel later.

Be patient and all that, but I get the frustration, the longer the preseason goes on without proper preparation or a squad, the more likely we are for another season of looking down and not up

Actually, starting on minus 12 I suspect we'll spend the whole season looking up

KA is gone, a new buyer has been chosen and there's still nowt to get behind or get enthused about, all the while the squad looks to be getting smaller

Yep. When the admin started I looked at what happened with other clubs and did fear the huge likelihood was it would drag on and cost us next season. It is not the administrator's fault that admin was filed for in May...should have been months before that.

But I guess the mistake they made was declaring that HoTs would be done the day after a buyer selected (or at least putting an expectation out there) and suggesting via the press that the process could conclude quickly. That has led to a) concern as to what has changed and b) frustration that the forthcoming season is now almost without doubt going to be worse than last.

The whole thing was new owners offered a fresh start, new impetus and yes we'd be -12 but it could be the start of a rebuild. Its likely now that whenever/if they do take over the rebuild won't start until the season after. And that could very likely be from league 2.

I think much of the "twitter mob" anger stems from that realisation. It doesn't mean the process isn't taking a normal amount of time or that this result was pretty much nailed on as soon as admin in May was announced. But there was a glimmer of hope offered a few weeks ago that seemingly has now gone. The important thing is we still have a club next season. That was always the critical thing. So even if next season is a complete dud and we're relegated by Christmas its better than the alternative of a club being liquidated.

Because the price for FV is higher if they have to buy it from somebody else, a certain Mr Anderson, for example

It could be the difference of 2 or 3 million

Might be interesting who owns the car park at the hotel

Is it football or hotel

If it's football, I'd say that strengthens the hand of FV

Where does the power come from

Anything that weakens the bargaining position of a non FV purchaser has to be good news

Whats the position of the secured creditors while we are in admin? , may have been discussed before, cba looking though. Do we need an agreement from them? ie an agreement from Ken Anderson & Davies family

When you buy from admin you need to pay off secured creditors in full or reach an agreement with them for some other arrangement....

Wonder if that's all been agreed then or still haggling over this causing the delay

I imagine that is the delay BUT it is worrying as one would hope FV were around long enough to know the score and I can't help but think they might be trying to do this on the absolute cheap. Which I can't blame them for but ultimately we may be not much better off than we were under Ken.

My old man?

No he’s Mick Ramsden pal, ran the coach travel and even the club football team for a while. Big Ste LA white his star player :)...ended up cleaning the windows too haha

When he moved to Chorley he took over the supporters club there too. Think it was there they had the bus crash on the way back from Chelsea away (I think) on a night match. Phillis and her lad Thomas on board, flipped on its roof etc. Few might remember it on here.

Sorry pal, i thought you meant the supporters club/executive suite at Burnden.  I worked there mid 80's and wondered if it was Arthur who was your owe fella.

The £10m payment to the Davies family for promotion to the Premiership, that's a payment and half.  Does that need sorting first?

Presumably the administrators aren't naive, and if it was inevitable that this process would drag on they wouldn't have said HoTs would be signed two weeks ago, then again last week and that the deal would be completed this week.

Add in the fact that FV have previously gotten way down the road of taking us over before failing to find the cash to complete.

Some of it is hysteria, some of it is a dawning realisation that our problems are far from over. But there are genuine red flags here also about this deal and it's chances of going through.

Easy enough to check, for a small fee. I’d be amazed if the hotel didn’t own it (or have a long leasehold interest in it) - as they would need control of it to ensure there is no risk to the operation of the hotel business.

That said, where Ken is involved, anything is possible.

I think its a fair point. Administrators wouldn't have put a timescale on the heads of terms and a further statement for a laugh. Some of the people dismissing that are a bit disingenuous. Clearly something is not as expected. But I guess there could be a lot going on.

However, the other way to look at it is most clubs are in admin for 4 months plus. There is a reason for that. The legalities are not simple. And whilst some things may have cropped up unexpectedly that is probably the nature of this process.

Do I think there are "red flags"? Not really yet. But I do think the worry that FV have been here before and not completed and are seemingly facing another delay 6 months later isn't completely without concern.

Did FV not have the funds or were they put off my undisclosed debt. Massive difference.

If that's the case I doubt FV will get the deal done, the longer this goes on the less confident I am that we will have new owners by the start of the season
