That's the one. I'm still convinced that was a trick of the light. Shame Williams wasn't playing so they could have had round 2.

The final whistle would've been the only time Williams would have been within ten yards of Pearson

Might as well get on the hills every Saturday aternoon

I had two choices yesterday. Walk up Rivi. or the match. Chose the match and after 20 min I spent the rest of the time looking up into the hills wishing I was there.

I will be next week.

As a Preston fan I can only commend you on you level of support at yesterdays game.  If Preston played like that we would struggle to get on 7000.  If I am being honest I came away from yesterdays game in a little bit of shock, If that's what you guys have had to put up with I think they should be giving you free season tickets for next season.  You didn't seem to have any particular pattern to you play for most of the game and played with about 9 defensive players.  Not what I expected to see from Bolton Wanderers.  Good luck for the rest of the season I think your going to need it if you don't change your management quickly..... you never know you might get the Ole effect.... half of the Ole effect would do for you boys.  Hope you boys stay up nice to have local games and all that, just hope next time we play you you have progressed.

As I said your turn out was impressive considering the standard of football you're having to watch.  Preston fans are as fickle as you can get put a few wins together and all of sudden everything's rosy...  I would add the club as a whole seems to be running well from top to bottom and I for one do enjoy watching our team play nowadays.  The squad we got relegated with a number of season ago was one of the worst squads known to the championship... a perfect storm... poor recruitment.. players getting old.... no young lads with enough quality coming thru.   When you get the right owners in place they will have you sailing again!   It took Hemmings a number of years to get the right Chairman (Risdale - in all but name... misadventure in the business world I believe doesn't allow him to be called chairman)  now we have the right manager.   When asked about budgets Neil told us that in Scotland only two teams have a budget the rest just scourge around and its not something that really interest him and that he is happy to try to work within our means (cant stand managers that constantly moan about money) and that at Norwich he didn't have a real understanding of the markets he was dealing with when he got them promoted to the prem...

You've got a good one there. Remember it wasn't long ago since he was being talked about as a possible replacement at Old Trafford. You definitely seem to have got a good balance in the direction the club is taking - been steady improvements since you got promoted. No reason you couldn't do very well if someone chucked a few quid at it - once the foundations are there.

I reckon if we were playing Top Trumps - Worst Championship Team Ever I reckon your previously shit Championship Squad would be eclipsed by ours... Easily.

I don't know about that …. some of the brainless crew over our way blamed Westley for the club recent demise … you know what its like to have some that cant see the real truth and the  recent demise clearly started before he arrived but some supporters are taped in the head... we certainly have a great number of them amongst our support.

The team that started yesterday didn't cost a fortune but is starting to cost more in wages , of which some of the Hugill money has been spent … some of out lot think we should spend it all on new players, maybe they would be suited to joining your board!

Clearly some of them like Hugill are destined for bigger clubs that can afford to pay bigger wages...  were about at our limit I believe so don't be surprised to see us loose a number of them in the next transfer window, especially the lads that are over 24 and looking for that life changing contract.

How come he decided not to start with Daniel Johnson yesterday? I've always thought he was a cracking player at this level. Not seen loads of hik mind so you might think differently?

The manager changes the team to suit and at the minute Johnson doesn't suit, cant remember him starting for a bit to be honest.  Do like the lad but takes him a bit to settle down in  a game and in my opinion not a lot of use as a sub for that reason.  With the lad Potts being signed does seem to be a little bit down the order at the minute but that can soon change with Pearson like of getting suspended.

Terrific post that and much appreciated, was very impressed with Preston yesterday and even more impressed see the age of the team and how little it cost  we seem to be the polar opposite to you in that apart from connell at 17 the rest of our team is in the late 30's. It just shows with a good manager and some good young signings you can form a team that can excite the fans(4500 didn't come to watch a poor side) if you can keep the squad together you could be dark horses for next season.

To be honest we beat Stoke away last time and had a lot of possession the difference in my opinion is that we had to do it at full pace against them but where yesterday you're team just sat there waiting and we had difficulty waiting for you to come out so we could sneak in behind you....  Without pretending to know a lot about your squad I am sure that you're team could have offered more than that yesterday... I found it very very odd.  22 out of 24 teams in the championship in my opinion generally over the seasons see to be able to beat each other.  When you piled it on use we had gone to sleep and started to panic , even if you had had spells of trying to do that I could have understood it but to wait until the end to start trying to entertain was in my opinion ridiculous … I cant believe that you weren't abusing the manager from the start if I am honest. Although again I don't know the state of your squad, injuries to better players, players sold not replaced etc etc but

Well, let me tell you a bit

We don't buy players, we sell everything we can

We are absolutely skint and sign free transfers that nobody else wants

Those two strikers are the best we have got

Your team that hasn't cost much cost nearly 3 million more than ours and is worth about 20 million than ours

Anyway, you have a team miles better than us and I'd be asking serious questions why you are so far from the top

Much humour….. humour

The reason I think we are so far from the top is we had a poor start.... a number of players didn't start the season so well and I think the manager wasn't so sure of his best team while he worked out how to play  all the time without a big lad to hold it up and secondly because we had a spell of perhaps ten games where our squad was crippled by injury and some of the young lads we have signed didn't have the old heads around them to allow them to adopt to a tough championship league.

We seem to be after each transfer window getting a little stronger..... when we get to the summer we will have another 5/6 dead woods gone and hopefully be able to improve that little more and obviously with players contracts running down some will be sold.  We have as you may or may not be aware been buying in Ireland and lower leagues … some work some don't not sure exactly how success is measured and is often argued about amongst north enders  either way I think the majority are starting to understand we are what we are and we cant afford to buy from championship clubs in general because there wages are to high so we need to look elsewhere.

On the plus side it shows that with some reasonable investment a decent team can be moulded, what surprises me about KA is that with him and his sons knowledge of the market why didn’t he and his son bring in young players and look to a manager who could improve them in order to sell for a profit, surely that would lead to making more of a profit than trying to sell a football club, it might of increased the value of the club as well, when I look at Anderson’s tenure in charge I think it’s now apparent he’s done a terrible job.

We'll have him next season if he's surplus to requirements and he fancies a regular game in Div 1.
