Underpants
In modern times when was the last time a professional football club got wound-up never to be seen again? From what i remember Middlesbrough came close in the 80s. Bristol City before them. A few close calls recently but no one has actually gone I may be wrong but i don't think it has happened. If you mean disappeared, that's more of a challenge But I'm pretty sure clubs have been wound up and started again as a new entity Newport and Aldershot, maybe? Hereford? Or more controversially, Rangers?

Leicester went through this winding up malarkey, and i think Southampton did too.
Site Supporter MickyD Posted February 6, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted February 6, 2019 What happened to having to come back as a non-league club the way Wimbledon did? Or was that because MK Dons got their league position?

There are properly run clubs all the way down the pyramid, the FA give zero fucks that you used to be Bolton Wanderers. Applications for NWCFL have already gone in, it will be over subscribed. Some clubs in areas that aren't as densely populated as the Manc/Liverpool area have started at this level (9/10). We'd be looking at 11 or 12, eg Eagley, Turton, Chew Moor Brook etc.

Yeh you are right but Workington did have a football league club which some opposing clubs did refer to as 'Town' on their programmes however Workington Afc did not refer to themselves as town Anyway they are alive in the seventh tier apparantly last club to not be re-elected to the football league .No financial shenanigans just a steady decline. They did once beat the dingles 5-1 at Ewood in the league cup . Moderators Carlos Posted February 7, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 7, 2019 Workington are getting decent crowds (400+) given they are potentially on their way out of the NPL. Colls might bypass them.
