There are more posts in this thread calling the players cunts than there have ever been saying similar about Ken or Bassini.

You saying they’ve not acted cunty?

or been shit all season?

It’s not one or the other; they’re all cunts

Hmmmmm

You also posted that folk on here would rather have “oblivion with Ken” than be saved by the Trust didn’t you?

Last night I actually agreed with them as it is unacceptable to not be paid and thought it would bring matters to a head.

However, having thought some more, for the sake of 9 days and 2 meaningless matches is it really worth all this negativity when the only people really to suffer now, potentially are the fans, especially if points deductions etc roll into next year.

And do we think it is the whole squad in unity or a few militants railroading the rest? And if such perosnailties exist where they been on the pitch all season? Why have these same players never stood up to PP over his shit tactics. I. E. Nolan telling Gartside Sammy Lee was out of his depth type action.

Everything to do with the club at the moment feels contradictory, amongst other things!!!

It's like groundhog day.

Somebody speaks out against Ken (and now Bassini). They get the stick for being shit footballers, a failed pub owner, a vegan bellend, painting the spare room etc. etc.

No. They're not all cunts, certainly not to the level where it's the players getting the most shit. It couldn't be more obvious who the actual cunts are, the two clowns who have us heading to the wall. But crack on directing criticism at everyone else.

Who are the "senior players" who have spoken on behalf of the rest? I assume Wheater will certainly be amongst them; a player who is at the twilight of his career. Is it fair that he speaks for a number of junior playing staff who may not wish to withdraw his labour? Maybe the should have played the younger players and got points docked for playing unregistered players. 2 points per player is still only 28 points (inc. subs.) and would only lose us a single position in the league. I'm sure the EFL would have preferred this as a solution than not fulfilling the fixture.

Exactly

And this thread is asking if folk support the player’s strike so of course the critique on it is concentrated on the players FFS

None of that absolves KA of anything does it?

On fact I think my first post on this thread actually says KA is a cunt or similar

So Tom do you agree with the strike action?

If we have no money and nobody is prepared to put money in, we either a) hope everyone works for free or b) go out of business.

But it's not up to A to make sure B doesn't happen.

Yes - we appear to be in some sort of limbo with the owner and potential owner fucking around and this may help force the situation towards some sort of conclusion

No - it gives KA another excuse to deflect attention away from him

It's rare that I disagree with you mate - we appear to have the same view on a lot of things but here I disagree

  • They are not poor and scraping along day to day - I know how much one player earns (ITK, fact, mate of a mate, etc) and I wouldn't be bleating about over £200K per year and under/around 30 years of age
  • They will get paid
  • If they were striking on behalf of those at BWFC on minimum/living wage then fair enough. No, they are striking for themselves
  • They've had "issues". Fuck off. Go and work in A&E on a Saturday night, dig holes in the road in the pissing rain, scrape a biker off the motorway when a driver hasn't seen him, be a peacekeeper in Yemen, etc, fucking etc

I completely agree with the concept of "striking" when an employer is fucking over the workforce. It's exactly why the unions were born and rightly so

But even a player earning a "lowly" £2K per week is probably earning more than the vast majority who are paying in week after week, month after month, year after year to watch the shit that they serve up and can't even have butter on their hotdogs, have their beer served cold, and even think about being entertained

They can fuck right off. No sympathy whatsoever. They've pissed on their chips

This is a very emotive issue, and it's perfectly understandable folk are annoyed with players- no argument from me there.

My perspective is drawn from having worked in local government then going on my own.

Firstly a number of individuals wanted to scive and earn; which pissed me off.

Going on my own, and some want to have you do stuff and not pay for ages.

It certainly changed my valuation of money. Not what it buys as that doesn't change but the moral importance of that agreement.

During my CBT, some of this came out and I've had to change my approach, and I've fucked off the odd customer. Not being paid becomes a massive moral issue, irrespective of whether it's affordable. For me, apart from maybe the very top earners in football, the level of wage shouldn't come into it.

I know these guys will get paid eventually, but there's an important principal at stake - it would be wrong if clubs started to delay wages as a matter of routine.

I know they've been shit on the pitch, and at times their efforts have been questionable, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out later a lot more shit has been going on. Ultimately, they're only human.

In a way, it's good that they've exhibited a togetherness - although I accept that a lot more of that would have been welcomed on the pitch.

When it comes down to it; I just struggle to find any great animosity towards them, I think I know how I'd feel in their shoes.

Maybe the season as a whole has taken its toll, as I'm finding the situation all a bit meh at the moment.

I'll reserve my anger for Ken Anderson.

Whatever anyone thinks about the action the players have taken, it's certainly brought things to boiling point and focused plenty of eyes on our predicament.

Sensible post shocker!

Interesting aspect for me ... the players didn't decide to strike, they decided (on Wednesday) to threaten to strike. I think that's entirely reasonable in a situation where they haven't been paid and (allegedly) have had to put up with a mixture of broken promises, contradictory statements from the club, and periods of no explanation whatsoever.

Threatening to strike in order to force someone to do what they've already promised to do when it's already gone past the date where they said they'd sort it (and the assumption is, given the promises made, that it's entirely within their means to sort it) is fair enough. I'm sure we'd all have done the same.

The problem then is when it still isn't sorted what do you do? The threat hasn't worked, but you can't really back down.

So the real question becomes whose fault is it if Bassini / Ken had two days' notice on this but still didn't sort it.

I've been up and down about this since last night in the pub. I thought they were all cunts last night. I changed my mind. This morning I went for a walk and rang my mate and said they were all cunts. Finished the walk and saw it differently. I'm out in Manchester at the moment and don't know how I feel about it anymore. The players are no better or worse off than they were on Wednesday morning though. That's a fact.

Sounds like your heads all over the place and you need to sort yourself out.

For me it's pretty simple, the players are total cunts and i never want to see a single one of them near our club  ever again.

Trouble is.... by not fulfilling our fixtures, it's opened us up to a whole new set of future sanctions from the EFL, ranging from points deductions ( if we survive ) to expulsion from the league.  For what ?....the starving footballers were always going to get paid at some point, but most of the shithouses won't be here when we have to pay the price for their strike.

The majority of these fuckers will be picking up a wage packet somewhere else next year & this issue will be quickly forgotten amongst them

meanwhile, the club they have left behind has to deal with all the consequences of the actions they have taken. Which could take however long and lead us to worse than league 1

and they want sympathy and our support? Well you had it. Inspite of the shit you served us, you always had it

until today. Now you can all fuck off. Gutless, spineless gormless shit house cunts the lot of em
