The seasons a month away and the handful of players that are still left haven’t even started training yet. It’s highly likely that we will go down again

With the season over a month away, and lots of free transfers available, we can build a very competitive team. It's highly likely we will be pushing for playoffs, taking into considering the 12 deduction..

btw, the reality is probably somewhere in between, so your negativity can go fuck itself.

suspect we'd all take mid-table obscurity if offered at this stage.

I know right, I'm sure some people on here are just stuck in this consistent managed decline thinking.

Knows where the net is.

He's 34 now though and last few seasons he hasn't done that well but tbf they were in the championship, with the extra time and space he'd get in L1 he might just boss it.

Last time we were in L1 we got 86 points, the last promotion place (6th) Millwall got 73. If we replicated the same form even with a 12 point penalty we would have gotten 74 points, meaning we still would have gotten into the playoffs.

It's not deluded, it's hopeful, all we need is a modest investment, it could be done with free agents and loans.

We had a decent side for league one back then with the likes of Madine, Vela, Beevers, ALF and Karacan. And in all honesty we didn’t exactly set the world alight.

we have 6/7 players now, a transfer embargo and starting on at least minus 12, possibly more. How the **** are free agents who nobody wants and loaners going to fire us up the league

You sound mental mate...Madine, Beevers, ALF and Karacan were all free agents

I was only point out how stupid your statement was.

By your own metric Okocha, hierro, campo and stelios, but to name a few were rubbish, not worth signing. There are loads of reasons why a player might not have is contract renewed. Most of which have no correlation to playing ability.

James Weir, Ben Pringle, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Will Keane, Stephen Hendrie, Liam Ridgewell, Gary Hooper, Paul McShane, Peter Whittingham,

Call their agents see if they want to come for trials, pick the best ones, there's tons. Ill admit a good number wont want to come but some will it all depends on our vision and budget.

There's loads.

I wouldn't mind us trying to sign James Wilson, always rated him when he was a kid at Man U, his career seems to have gone a bit stale, but I reckon he'd score plenty in League 1.

Not under Parky he wouldn't!

Great shout though

By getting the right manager in place that can build a project from that starting point.

Can we please pot Parky and bring in Garry Monk, or is that too much to ask?

No reason why not if FV are prepared to fund wages for GM on top of a year’s salary for Parky.

No feelings either way but intrigued to know what GM would bring to us as he seems to have had a few clubs without achieving much?

Where do you get these ridiculous expectations from? GM has proven himself to be a very decent young manager that likes to play good football. He’s too good for league one and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him rock up at Derby
