Was he the one who crashed his car about 20 minutes after passing his test?

Think the story with Oli - was he crashed it just after passing his test into the McDonalds drive-thru.

Oli won one of the sweepstakes and text me for the money before they’d even lifted the bastard cup as he was going on holiday that night and needed the cash :D

Thankfully, there aren't many like that on here.

The generosity of WW posters over the years to various causes we've temporarily adopted has been nothing short of phenomenal.

Camping weekends,  sky tv, losing a mattress from the roof rack,  great topics.

A lot of the lads I met were as a result of having nothing better to do on a Wednesday evening so went watching Clackervalve Allstars playing five a side football at Breightmet.

I say five a side... often it was more a hybrid game somewhere between football and MMA.

Seen some right ding-dongs over the years,  one of the best being when CVAs were playing a team of Indian or Pakistani lads who turned up in United shirts.

Better still though was also a team who played in United shirts but who wound each other up so much they ended up battling between themselves.  We all stood there watching.

Great times and a beer or two in the club house afterwards.

I liked Oli, he sat next to me on one of the mad coaches from Walkden Labour Club to see the memorable 4-3 win at Blackburn.

Sadly developed a massive ego and disappeared up his own arse. So I'm told 😉

One of the best was when TSO was in goal and one of the opposition players, thought he was a bit of a hard nut, gobbed a big greeny at TSO. What happend next was fucking brilliant. Anyway, match abandoned.

Tell us more!

Early 1990s there was a 5 a side team of Asian lads called Argentinos paying in the local leagues.  They were a decent side but didnt like losing.  I once saw them, and several of their supporters, get an absolute leathering from 6 lads at Radcliffe Borough.  It was like something from Rorkes drift!

A lad called mick haslam - hard as nails - used to play at boro 6es or 7s, whatever it was

Mick was one of those that could probably kill you in a few different ways, but even if you fouled him, he was fine so long as you were trying to get the ball

Argentinos were in the same league

Argentinos were all megs, backheels and fancy tricks and piss taking

Put these things together and you will not take too long to work out what happened

That’s a bit what Clackervalves were all about. Folk with fairly short fuses aren’t best to try and take the piss out of or continually foul.

Billy Bear, a former poster was such a person.
He once asked the ref how long was left in the game.

Ref told him, “about five minutes”

He then asked the ref to give him a shout at one minute to go so that his sending off didn’t disadvantage the team too much.

saw one at the Trafford Centre once, team of asian lads v a team of skindheads - dunno who started it, but once it started, everyone was at it, subs included, brought 20 pitches to a standstill - the ref couldn't do anything, so we all just watched till they'd finished leathering each other, which was a good five minutes non stop - basically a load of lads running round after each other in a netted 5 a side pitch

Aye, that's him.  They had a lad playing for them too who was some martial arts expert and was laying folk out left, right and centre.  We'd played them a couple of weeks earlier and he'd caught me late and not knowing him, I spent the last few minutes looking for a chance to exact some revenge.  Thank God, I didn't!

The team we played bullied other teams in the league by being over physical and mouthing off to opposition. We had Brixton, Billy Bear, TSO as well as others who wouldn't stand for any of that kind nonsense. TSO would normally play out but our keeper, Barryk32, couldn't make it so he went in the nets. One of the gobby ones and TSO had words then he spat at TSO. Fucking hell, he was out of the nets like Usain Bolt he mullerd this lad. Everyone then got involved and our lot were decking and chasing this team of bullies all over the shop. The other team eventually got kicked out of the league because they had previous for causing trouble. They bit off more than they could chew that evening. I miss them days.
