Stuck in Calgary airport wishing I could have been there today. Reading every bit I can from the game with a fair few tears in my eyes.

I think there could be something special born out of all of the dogshit we’ve had to put up with in the last 8-9 months.

I'm on date night with the Mrs. Just shown her this after she got back from the bogs and she said even she is welling up.

Top stuff!

Now I'm in Shakespeare in Birmingham on my own trying to justify to my missus that the train to Nottingham is cancelled (that's actually true) and I'll be back in 3 hours.

Fucking wasted.

Thought Lowe was outstanding today.

I think we have to admit that now there is another club deserving to be classed as Wanderers. Wycombe were superb everything they did was spot on.

Only footballs will understand why nearly 8. Hours driving and us not having a shot on goal was worth the effort.

Early start this morning (6am train) now on the way back (near Rugby) Surprisingly sober considering the emotional day. Spoke to loads off here today and saw as many that I missed out on. I don’t always go to aways on my own (left my wife at the V&A) but whether it’s Munich or High Wycombe, there is always someone who I know because of this magnificent 53 year affiliation to BWFC.

Aye, Lowe looked good today. I drove 3.5hrs to Wycombe and 3 hours back, wouldn’t have missed it for anything - best defeat i’ve seen for years! 😄

Almost certainly the ale, but I'm on a train back to Birmingham drinking on my tod and can't help but well up when I see some of the images from today

You know, when we were safe and secure in Premier League taking nothing numbers away (and I include myself in that) I totally underestimated what it was all about.

Stood amongst my brothers and sisters today, shouting until it hurt. And there was shit loads of us. This is what is means, we're alive.

I fucking love you all.

Great post. I've thought back to prem days a lot recently, and despite going for 40 years and falling out of love with much of what pro football is, my love for the club is far more intense than in, say, the allardyce years. That didn't feel real, it felt a bit manufactured in hindsight.  This is the club as it's meant to be, it suits us. Taking 350 to Everton was taking it for granted, it's going to be a long time before we have that mindset again, we wouldn't admit it at the time but it just wasn't us.

Definitely need to keep Lowe in midfield where possible once we have the luxury of being able to actually pick a team.

Agree with that. Must admit I went through a spell in the Prem, particularly in the later years, where I’d only go to 8-10 games a season (at the most) whereas the last 6 years have all been 30+ games a season (and 26 the year before that which I think was the first year down from the Prem).

That was far and away the best atmosphere at Adams Park for an opening game. Your support was brilliant today and I really hope you go from strength to strength. It was a privilege to see your passion and commitment to your club in one of its darkest hours and I really hope it is rewarded and that you start to climb up again.

All lower league club supporters empathise with you as we all understand  we are a dodgy owner or two away from oblivion.

You might not have many experienced players but your kids did you proud and if Zouma plays like that every week you have a real class defender for this level.

Good luck

Thank you. And thanks to everyone at Wycombe for going the extra mile for us this week. You've gained a lot of respect from your friends in Bolton this week. Been a class act from start to finish.

Best of luck for the rest of the season. You've a smashing club!

There are a bunch of young players who will have grown immeasurably today. Never before will they have experienced that kind of pressure or that level of support and I have little doubt they will remember that game for the rest of their lives. I only hope that they, and the others that didn't make it on to the pitch will be inspired to compete for places as the season progresses and that they are given the chance to form the nucleus of our future team. Judging by the age of the last minute signings, youth looks central to the plan going forward and with even a few games playing together they are only likely to improve regardless of results. I really hope that is the case and FV don't press the panic button.

I reckon Luca Connell, who didn't even make Celtic's bench today wishes he could have been part of that - but I can't imagine what Wheater, Beevers or the other rats that fled the sinking ship must be thinking now. As for Magennis....can you imagine the reception he would get if he ever puts the shirt on again? Not likely to be the most popular guy in town.
