dazl1212
Can't say I blame him, just surprised hes chosen to leave now and not earlier.
anthonyj
Nixon just been asked about Lee. Says he's still at club. Wonder whether there has been friction between him and Parky? Interestingly, Dearden mentioned the Lee was watching saturday's match from the stands before leaving early

paulhanley
I think this is about him knowing that the transfer window closes soon and he's just not going to be able to create any type of team. For the first time in some time he's probably just thinking of himself. Nobody can blame him. Given the right backing he'd have made us Championship streetfighters - no more than that admittedly and it would have been far from pretty. But he's better off starting afresh elsewhere. I hope we survive as a football club and play against one of his future clubs.
ProfessorWoland
Sad to hear this news. I think he's been a rare beacon of honesty and decency amidst the wreckage that is BWFC. In time and viewed in the context of what he had to deal with his achievements on the pitch will be given due credit. I wish him and Parkin well, thank you for all you did. Burndens Bogs
Poor bloke has aged 15 years during his time with us.Maybe someone incredibly clever can put up side to side photo's of Parky, one when he started with us and one towards the end of his tenure. Thanks in advance.

anthonyj
True, but i honestly think FV will not complete. That doesn't mean i believe Bassini has any chance either (we all know the bloke is a tosser). I think there will be a late buyer, probably Kamani family. Roger_Dubuis
I thought it had been a surprisingly quiet news day and then lo and behold the manager resigns.I take this to be a sign of bad things to come rather than Boohoo have Ancelotti lined up

I don’t think any of them are for what it’s worth Quite. If it was Jason Lowe who quit today he'd be getting the same shit those pair did. Hopefully the penny is dropping. I wanted Parky gone in the summer, and at various points when it looked like FV would complete. But we're way past the point where a fresh face will make any difference, and as a respected figure in football he would've been key to recruitment, if we ever get chance to try and build a team. Overall his record here is pretty good, he's been dignified throughout and held things together for as long as he could. I wish him well. bolton va va
Absolutely gutted. As our manager, Phil Parkinson did as well as anyone could have done under impossible circumstances & as a man, he has always shown class & dignity. Thanks PP & best wishes for the future. Underpants
No matter what your opinion is of PP as a manager the bloke deserves a medal and a lifetimes supply of Carrs Pasties. I don't think any manager in the history of English football has had to deal with what he has had to deal with.

darwen_white
No point even guessing what's gone on. I wasn't his biggest fan but my heart went out to him last night when I heard that chant at that shit-show.

frank_spencer
At times it seemed like Parky was the only person keeping things going. Not a fan of his on pitch performance but can't fault the man for his efforts off it.
Site Supporter RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted August 21, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted August 21, 2019 I've been as big a critic of his managerial abilities as anyone but respect him as a man.... Anyone singing Parky out last night needs a good shoeing though.... Shameful.
Site Supporter Spider Posted August 21, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted August 21, 2019 Not the best tactician but he should be remembered for his integrity and dignity through the club’s darkest days. I hope he gets a decent job and does well. Thanks Phil.
