Agree he seemed too keen feathering his own nest when PP was still in charge, and add to that any success the U-23s have had is with players brought through from younger age groups, i.e. who really gets the credit - Lee or Spooner / Phillips / McCann? Not averse to appointing from within on the basis that this season will be a write off anyway. Could give it any (or combination) of Phillips / McCann / Darby / Spooner provided they were aware it was potentially a stop-gap and would be prepared to step back into previous roles if / when it didn't work out. At this point, looks like we'll be relying on a fair smattering of youth to supplement any free agents we manage to add, so fits from that angle too.
