My career's been about sorting fact out from fiction, so stuff like this is really second nature to me.

If you know where to look it really doesn't take much time doing so either.

Thanks for your concern about me though.

I appreciate it.

Is this where you’re now awaiting loads of thanks and applause for keeping us safe?

Sorry, although I can understand your words I have no idea of what you are intending them to mean?

I doubt anyone does?

Who have I kept 'safe' and why would I want any thanks for something I've almost certainly not done in the first place???

5 posts in and the thread is turned into a way to have a go at the Trust and who can write the longest post and pat themselves on the back. It’s predictable and boring!

Top man was Eddie Davies, without him we wouldn’t have seen the amazing highs that have made the last 5-7 years seem so shit. There won’t be another like him.

Just isn't the case. Eddie was happy to fund it as he was doing but then started to turn the taps off. PG was working on a plan to bring some people together (including one of our current owners) to buy the club from ED - then sadly was suddenly taken ill and never recovered.

ED knew the position of the club and plans of the board - its not a case of him being "too trusting". He also knew he wanted out for while but was persuaded to keep supporting it till the plan to take it off his hands could be realised. The redevelopment of parts of the site that PG proposed were part of his ED succession plan.

PG was not suddenly taken ill. He suddenly discovered that he had been ill for some time without himself (or ED or anyone else) realising it.

I'm not understanding this, is Iles launching some sort of attack on Eddie Davies on the anniversary of his death?

An earlier, more controlled withdrawal of his subsidy would have left us in a stronger position. Maybe there are reasons why he appeared to act so abruptly that we may never know.

Iles asks a perfectly valid question, though the timing of it on the anniversary of Davies death, absolutely stinks.

RIP Eddie.

Iles

Thick or a cnut

You decide

Well he's absolutely no excuse of not knowing the significance of the day, this was tweeted by the club a full FOUR HOURS before Iles tweet and he most certainly would be following all the clubs various social media accounts.

I'm sure Eddies widow, children and grandkids would be over the moon to see Iles trolling for clicks today of all days, particularly just a handful of days after they've instructed EDT to waive the debt owned to Davies by Anderson and thus save the club from oblivion.

I have noted your  comments and would be grateful if you would respond to the following:

  1. Eddie Davies retired from the board of Burnden Leisure in 2009 and the board of BWFC in 2011. Why do you believe he did that?
  2. At the time of his retirement from BWFC, Eddie had spent about £100m on Bolton Wanderers and went on to spend another £80m before transferring ownership to Holdsworth and Anderson in March 2016. When do you say that  he advised BWFC's  board that he didn't have  a magic money tree and couldn't financially support BWFC forever and on what basis do you claim that he acted abruptly.
  3. After the transfer of ownership Eddie continued to provide financial support to BWFC to an amount believed to be £7.5m. Do you agree?
  4. BWFC's stadium and hotel were recently re-mortgaged to provide the money needed to fund the club for the next two years. Who paid off the debt that provided the funds to build the stadium and hotel? (If you tell me it was Gordon Hargreaves, I'll have you sectioned along with Eyewash Iles).
  5. How many years notice do you expect the owner of a football club to give and how much more money do you expect them to provide before they are allowed to say that enough is enough?

I'm not going to give you a point by point response because the issue is quite simple.

In summer 2015 Ben Amos was given a 4 year contract at a reported £17k a week. Darren Pratley also signed a new contract, 2yrs IIRC.

Why did Davies allow these contracts to be given out only for us to end up struggling to pay bills by the autumn?

Why didn't we start to cut our cloth more accordingly earlier?

It's possible to ask these questions and still recognise EDs unparalleled contribution to our club. But as I said earlier Iles publicly asking on the anniversary of EDs death stinks.

Yours is the typical response of the terminally evasive and isn't everything simple for the simple-minded?Just answer the first point first will you?

Who the fcuk do you think you are?

I've backed up my view by giving a simple, well known and understood example.

I'm not going to answer any of your points you condescending old prune.

That is all.

You won't because you can't. The world is very simple to those who can't think beyond the first thing that comes into their heads.
