Ricardo Gardner was a gorgeous player . I was at west brom when he scored the last minute winner  and at Swansea when he scored his last goal for us . He had 3 (THREE) acl injuries ....the same ones that gascoigne and shearer had and came back in half the time .

A report in the times called him the best left back in the prem. and when we went to a back 5 with him and mendy as wing backs we played our best football .
Allardyce says him and Okocha had an almost telepathic link . He had a choice to make at 16 , sprinting or football, he chose football. I met him when he was 19 and as shy and reserved as they come , humble and grateful for his opportunity . He never gave less than 100% scored some unbelievable goals and was a huge part of our best ever spell.

If some no mark tusk wants to call him an average player thats fine , it just highlights that he/she knows as much about football as he does about Guatamalan tiddlywinks .

And yes I would have Gardners babies

1999, Swindon away. Ricky scored a cracker - me and my lad there all the way from Oz. Had a minor set to with Bristol City fans on the way to the game after pulling into a rural pub for some scran and a coachload of them pulled up.

Anyway, Ricky scored a cracker and I seem to recall Donkey Deano scoring too? We were 4-0 up at HT if I remember rightly. Fans singing "Oh, Ricky you're so fine......"

Always liked Gardner - great full back and a bit of flair about him.

My grandad loved the fact that when Ricky was running with the ball there were the things all working independently of each other; the ball, Ricardo Gardner and Ricardo Gardner's legs.

It worked and was a brilliant player for us even if he had a knack for trapping the ball further than I could kick it at times.
