Site Supporter fatolive Posted October 9, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted October 9, 2019 Not sure if it will work with foreign mozzies, but I was always constantly bitten here by everything , being at kids football training at dusk was constantly coming home full of bites in my scalp , arms legs. Telling someone at work about it who comes from Africa , he said, “ bet you eat a lot of bananas, they love them , stop eating bananas and take hay fever tablets from Aldi and you won’t get bit” tried this and true enough from being bitten every time I walked across a field I could walk through swarms of the things and not get a single bite the tablet of choice was 89p and must be the ones containing Loratadine as apparently mozzies hate that in the blood all I know is it worked for me ! dave2980
Sprays containing DEET are really the only thing that will really stop them. There's plenty of old wives tales knocking about too such as taking B12 supplements, garlic capsules etc. They work for some people but not all
Traf
We buy a spray called OFF! Seems to work on the wife & junior. I don't bother with it as even if I get bit, it does'nt bother me.

Site Supporter Spider Posted October 9, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted October 9, 2019 Anyway Best tip I ever got was in South Africa when I complained to a local about the bites I had. ”Fuck off home you pale English kaffir “ So, just stay in. ErnestTurnip
How do the mozzies know they don't like your blood with Loratadine in before they bite and taste it ? Do they see the packet and think "fuck that"? Edited October 9, 2019 by ErnestTurnip
Members Rudy
I don’t get bit or if I do i have no reaction. our Maude swears by a few things. Garlic capsule tablets but need to be taken 6 weeks before you go Jungle spray citronella wristbands. Pack of 2 from the £ shop, used these in South America and she didn’t have a problem and the mozzies there are like bats

Site Supporter Winchester White Posted October 9, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted October 9, 2019 I am pretty fucking sure you have taken mozzy spray on all your other trips, use the same twatting stuff. Other than that, use something with 50% deet.

MancWanderer
Mrs Manc bought two of them anti-mozzie bracelet things on the TUI flight to Dominican Im like yeah OK. Got bitten twice. People wandering round our resort looking like they’d got measles it was so bad. Maybe those bracelet things are effective after all??
