Whitestar
Remember Buff being printed in the back of a van on Manny rd? By the time you got on yer bus the print was all smudged off.

Yep, there was always two editions. The one with all the final scores down the side got printed after the final whistle. Then another one got delivered about 6pm with match reports on the front & back pages. I used to sit by the letter box waiting for the later edition to drop in. Aye, the van was outside the college on Manny Rd & the first Buffs had a match report up to about the 75th minute & the final scores in a stop press column down the side, with like you say, still damp ink. I'm guessing it was after the Buff packed in, for a while a chap used to come in the town centre pubs, Saturday evening, selling the Pink with the final scores in. I think the last football results paper i saw was the Green in Sheffield . 1 hour ago, Tonge moor green jacket said: Then promptly rolled it up and twatted opposition fans with it. Moderators Casino Posted October 11, 2019 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2019 Never saw the college one as I was heading the other way, but I'm almost sure there was a van on the top corner of the car park, sort of level with the lever end

MancWanderer
Always baffled me as a kid how my dad bought a Buff from the local paper shop on the way back from the match. Took me years to realise that the match report wasn’t quite complete

Used to be known as a Millwall Hammer. They bought broadsheet newspapers, ulfolded them at centre pages and rolled up diagonally. Then folded the resulting tube in half. The fold really is hard as an iron bar.

Site Supporter FrancisFogarty Posted October 12, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted October 12, 2019 Yes but can you stick a bit of podcast on your chin when you've cut yourself shaving before turning out Satdiy night? Half of the pub used to have half of the buff stuck to their face. The other half were women.
