Parkinson to Sunderland

Had we potted Coyle at Swansea a year sooner, we’d have stayed up that season, and had the chance to consolidate just as the seriously big money came in for Premier League clubs.
That being the case, we could’ve avoided the shitstorm of financial turmoil that we’ve been going through ever since.

Parkinson played a major part in two last day pitch invasions which we’ll all remember forever. Promotion one season and a last day survival against all odds the next.
He then stayed without being paid for months through all the carnage, and resigned without us needing to pay him off, which like him or not was massively honourable.

We’re still recovering from Coyle seven years on. It’s not even remotely close. Parky has my utmost respect. Coyle was massively responsible in us nearly going under.

Our problem was we, or Gartside didn't have a good record of appointing managers after Allardyce.

Oh yeah, the blame doesn’t lie solely on Coyle. Had he been sacked in October 2011, he’d have been deemed a successful appointment. I do however blame Coyle for:-

- Spending the £7m Cahill cash that we had to save our season on an unknown 5ft 10” centre half, and a striker he’d never seen play. Nor did he play him when he signed.

- Players being absolutely fucked around the 60 minute mark every game. ‘Training’ or lack of clearly at fault here.

-N’Gog. £4m. Hardly played and was shit when he did.

- Keith Andrews, three year deal, £20k a week, 31 years old.

Plenty more but I don’t want to clog this up. We were awful that season and we’re still paying for it now. It’s a miracle that we even took it to the last day IMO.

He’s since shown how completely incompetent he is in every job he’s had. Should be detested way more than Megson in reality.

Think that completes the set of having every Boltonian in professional football on the coaching staff.

Nice bloke and had some cracking games against us when he was at Wigan.

his missus was/probably still is a very attractive lady who used to do guinness promotions

So goalkeeper is the only position clubs employ a coach for.  If there was a right back coach,  Nicky Hunt would be nailed on.  Just train with Emmanuel and Brockbank every day and maybe an under 18 right back.  How hard can that be.  David Burke could be left back coach, would just have been working with Chicksen for a few months but Bunney will be joining sessions now.  Tough gig that.
