Depends what you’re going for and who with.

Soi cowboy is a starter for ten of you’re into that sort of thing

if it’s for culture etc which I suspect then

boat trip up the chaophraya river and get off at

1. Wat phra

2. Grand palace

3. Wat pho

Use the sky train to get about for comfort but for something a bit different use the water taxis which are great fun

Good places for Eating are all over the place  used to be some cracking street food vendors along soi 11 sukhumvit but when I was last there they had been moved in due to the redevelopment

for something really nice with great views and upmarket try vertigo at the banyan tree

the food courts at the various malls

are good for lunch  particularly amarin for good authentic cheap food  and mbk also has a great food court

also get yourself along to Rachada rot fai train night market.

Nana Entertainment Plaza on Sukhumvit Soi 4 is an eye opening night time experience for what Bangkok is famed for. Nana has a Skytrain station.

Khao San Road is an expat hangout for a less thrilling experience but has well priced bars and food and plenty of live music.

During the day nearby are the touristy temples and palaces already mentioned. Prepare to be overwhelmed by Chinese tour groups and their flag toting guides.

More daytime culture at Jim Thompson House. Guided tour tells you a great back story. Good way to spend a couple of hours. Taxi will get you there.

River City is an arty complex with special exhibits forever changing.

After, get the free ferry and cross the river to Icon Siam mall, the final word in opulent shopping. It's better than Crompton Place.

Finally, spend an hour or 2 strolling round Chinatown and sample the food if you like; cheap or pricey is available.

When using a taxi make sure the meter is on.

Best Thai beer is Leo. Chang is fine, Singha isn't.

It goes without saying plenty of luscious eye candy wherever you are.

Enjoy.

Best bars, restaurants and sightseeing when not suffering from jet lag.

cue the abuse and hopefully some good tips. ( see what i did)

Khoa San Road for a bit of a party. Pick a hotel near here as it’s easier to get around.

do the palace and boat trip. It’s a great place. A bit hectic but good fun.

Just go to Annie's Soapy Massage and stay there for 48 hours drinking Chang.

Annie’s is class.

As is Lolita’s on soi 8.

Half time in the football used to leave my pint go round to Lolita’s get a nosh and then get back in for the second half.
