He was brilliant throughout - really calm and composed, but then had a rather rash last ten. No worse than Wright though. Impressed with YZ today.

He had a great game and he could afford to play with such confidence at 2-0 up but once they'd got one back it was time to shut shop

Above all else - the great performance, the team looking like a team, fitness levels back - I just really really enjoyed being at the match again.

Its been a chore, a steaming pile of shitty dross for so long that I’d forgotten what it felt like for the football to be an integral part of going to the match.

Honestly feels like we’ve got the club back and there’s nowt better. Nowt.

Felt ten foot tall coming out.

Lad was more into a game than I've ever seen him. He said he didn't think he could cope with his blood pressure! Was that worked up he rubbed a sore spot on his hand with the other one.

When we came out, I told him to be aware as we past the away end, anticipating a few of their balloons, given what had gone on.

Sure enough, a small number of black clad, well 'ards appeared giving it 'you fuckin cunts'. Quiet enough so as not to get noticed by the police.

For the first time ever at a match, I had the sincere desire to chin someone. Perhaps being protective of my lad, but fortunately, he told me not to bother!

Glad to, because it's been a long, long time since I've walked back to the car, with a spring in my step and that warm glow that you've just shared something really good and positive.

Want some more now.

He does but Hill encourages that, i know a lot of folk not keen on him but in my eyes once he irons out his decision making he could be very special.

I thought he got caught under the flight of the ball and his iffy header led to the opportunity for their lad, which he took well to be fair. Otherwise though, he came through another tough test pretty well. As you say Mounts, if he can gradually iron out those odd little issues, he could be a real player, good if not better than his brother, who hasn't done bad for himself

O'Grady has been one of the best in the lower leagues for years at holding the ball up and bringing others into play, as well as being a tidy finished with either foot. Trusted by Hill to do the job he was given today and did it really well. Still a solid performer at this level

Haha, I've always hit someone when in that zone, retaliation only I might add

It’s great to watch an operator like OG knows exactly what to do and makes most  of what he has. Great signing.

Feels like such a long time when I've felt like that at the final whistle.

Lowe was immense today. Also, very impressed with O'Grady.

Spot on.  I've never had a downer on Lowe unlike many, always liked his attitude and energy.  For me he could be captain for the next 5 years, its not like he's going to be 1 of those getting poached when we go down, especially being a local lad.  Quality from 1st minute to last today.  O'Grady, the epitome of a journeyman striker, but put simply, he's knows his job, he knows the game, and he just does the right things.  Also knows where the back of the net is and that always helps.

Politic the sub being subbed was an odd one. Didn't look injured.

Another public slating of a player by Hill incoming?

Not at all, much as I felt for Politic.  But we had about 8 minutes to hang on, and he wanted a central "defensive" player in there.  Every other player on the pitch at that time, whether we rate them or not, has a role to play defensively, apart from Politic.  A weaker manager would protect the player and make a decision not necessarily in the interests of the team.

Really enjoyed being back this past two home games.

I thought Lowe and O'Grady were superb today. Loved O'Grady pressuring the keeper for the first goal and Murphy's finish was sublime.

On the subject of Murphy's, Luke Murphy is like a new player.

I think fitness levels played a role in the Fleetwood comeback, but they do looks a dangerous and capable side.

Oh, and Luke Murphy was a good solid 7.5 today

He really wasnt.  4.5 more like.  If there was a tackle to be made, he didnt make it, if there was a pass to be made, he didnt quite manage it apart from 2 good passes.  His corner was embarrassing, and he was simply the worst player on the pitch.  If anyone can name a player that was worse, feel free.

I thought Fleetwood gave us too much respect in the first half, and probably got a  rocket up their arse at half time.

Certainly looked a better team second half.

Respect to Fleetwood 2nd half, that's a team with an identity and a pattern of play, and that's good management.  Never once "lumped it" and always a threat, because they know how to play football.  Not once in the last 20 years have I seen us behind in an away game and not resort to lumping it (not that I've seen most away games BTW).  I admire teams that stick to their footballing principles and they looked a real team, lacking a cutting edge. Useless info, their no.16 Jordan Rossiter was the 2nd youngest scorer in Liverpool's history, now on loan from Rangers, never gave the ball away, looked like the type of player Hill would go for in future.

I do enjoy reading these post match musings cos there are always some that I agree with and some where I just completely scratch my head. Lowe was as good as Murphy was poor, for me, but plenty have already said how much they enjoyed his performance.

It's a funny old game

Rossiter was no.16 right? His shorts were pulled up REALLY high

I'm with VaVa, a good performance, but we ran out of steam and they upped their game in the last half hour. I thought Lowe was  MOM but I was impressed with O'Grady again. He took his goal very well. A couple of months ago nobody would have chased that ball.

At no time in the Parky years would we have had a couple of Bolton strikers in the box when the opposition had the ball.  that goal was 80% down to the fact that Hill picked 2 strikers (3 if you include Dodoo) and so we had a weight of numbers.  Under Parky it would have been Vela chasing down from 20 yards away.

Luke Murphy never been one of my favourites but starting to show something and had a good, solid game today. Worked hard alongside Lowe, took a bad whack 2nd half but got back up and stuck in again, played a couple of good forward balls that showed he does actually have an eye for a pass. Him and Lowe are looking better because they're being actively encouraged to play it forward, quickly, rather than sideways or backwards all afternoon
