Johnnyrotten
Realistically it will be Zouma that makes way once the likes of Hobbs and Earl are fit (although I'm yet to see Earl play so only going off reports). Zouma is developing well but surely needs a break, without checking the stats he must have played nearly every minute of every league and cup game and I bet no other outfield player has come close to that (happy to be corrected). Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted November 3, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted November 3, 2019 Wright never stopped talking to Zouma yesterday. If he stays fit, Zouma will really come on leaps and bounds playing along side him

snowball
Behind all the young lads no knocking them for me . Most seem to agree but the one who said Zouma will never make it shouldn't be writing anyone that young off playing in thd circumstances he is yet. Very unfair

I think zouma has done bloody well this season. Since Hill arrived, we've had injuries at centre half, and zouma has stepped up. With a few players in front of the backline, we've now stopped shipping goals for fun, and some of the credit for that must go to the kid. I'd love him to be here for a long time, but I envisage someone coming in for him. Maybe not yet, but if he carries on improving, then it won't be too far off. barrycowdrill
Where we are and the budget we have we aren’t getting the accomplished, finished product type player. it’s either youth with a lot to learn or veteran with little more to give. Zouma is still prone to a mistake, one which inevitably lead to a goal. Sunderland and Rochdale so far. His brain might not be spot on at the minute positionally etc but boy can he get around. Mobile, quick, strong. Get the experienced heads teaching him the game (as Wright was doing yesterday) and he’ll come on leaps & bounds
MalcolmW
Sir Nat was thrown into the first team during the war. He was working an early shift in the mine and then playing, and was much criticised by 'supporters'. So much so that he considered giving up. Of course the wartime fixtures were low key and if he had been underperforming in top tier matches the problem would have been much worse. The end result would have been relegation much sooner than eventually happened (we only survived by 6 pts in 1948, 1949 and 1950).

If he'd made the mistake Wright did on 3 minutes he'd be getting pelters. As it was, I thought yesterday was his best game for us so far. As others have said, his decision making and positional sense needs a bit of work but he has all the attributes to be a very good defender. Tungsten3
Interesting that football league paper gave DoDoo MOM. but then they thought the ref was good with a 7/
Leyther_Matt
The Zouma of the last couple of weeks is unrecognisable from the headless chicken at the start of the season. Remarkable rate of improvement to be fair.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 3, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted November 3, 2019 At the start of the season the back line was beleaguered and facing a barage of attacks all game. Bound to make mistakes.

Cleverley leaving ALF on bench to stick with his lump up top strategy. This lulled Forest into a false sense of security until he then brought the dud on who scored and put a perfect cross in for Big Wilbs to score winner in last minute. Genius Now if you want to carry on watching Parky Dross do us all a favour Parkinson Va Va Voom and fuck off to Sunderland, Lee Butler might give you a lift There's a brave little soldier. I thought Lowe was better but him and Manny are looking a real threat to teams. I’ve seen Dodoo on wing for Rangers a couple of times which is why I didn’t read too much into his scoring stats. Looks a top signing at this level
tshape
I don't care what Zouma does or doesn't do long term, the mistakes he might or might not make. I can't help but love him. Chanting his name at Wycombe, we were desperate for a hero and he was it. His smile will do for me.

Johnnyrotten
At this level he's quality. His 1st touch gives the game away, same with O'Grady, it's instantly under control. Then head up, beat a man if necessary, intelligent pass. I feared we'd signed a 'dud' but far from it. He'll be in a to half Div 1 team (or equivalent) next season with or without us. Get decent players for the level we are at and look to build from there. I think we might be there with this group

Traf
I can't help but think that the EFL are hanging fire until they can give us a punishment that doesn't really affect us. Last season they dithered over penalising Birmingham for financial irregularities and waited until it was highly unlikely they's make the play offs before deducting points. They then didn't impose the maximum penalty to ensure Birmingham weren't dragged into a relegation fight, so the only real penalty they suffered was a few league places.
