Exactly. This season should still be considered a write-off. If we managed to stay up, it would be one of the most incredible footballing achievements of all time.

And one we wont get any credit for if  some of them bell ends on Doncaster forum and others are to be believed.  Bollocks to them all.

One said if a team finishes a point below us and is relegated they should sue the EFL! So they had a 12 point start, and we basically forfeited the first 6 games (Coventry an honourable exception) by playing kids . How much of a head start do you want? Any club finishing below that deserves to be relegated no question.

Oh and our situation and Burys was totally different so why are folk sudddenly feeling sorry for them and blaming EFL for favouring us? Ignorant tin pot shits .

Us against the world. Wouldn't have it any other way! COYW!!!

I wanted to join the conversation and took the trouble to register, but I dont have enough 'privileges' to comment.  What's that guy going on about saying we're borrowing £40mil to fund our successful season and we'll be back in admin in 18 months?  Either I'm completely uninformed or there's a load of misinformation out there.

Apparently we have borrowed £40m, but indications are that  we've spent half (ish) of it so far,  and we don't know what the full terms and structure of the borrowing is, or what the future plans of the owners are, its all speculation, and the future of the club will be based mainly on how successful the 1st team is in the near future, so who knows what's going to happen.

I really think we've got a good chance if doing it. From what I've seen since Keith, we are realistically a mid table standard team. Unusually (and luckily for us) everyone from 16th down  (Rochdale) has relegation form points average, so it's highly probable that a lower than usual points tally will be needed to stay up. Mid table form is usually win/draw/lose a third of matches, which would give us 41, which might be enough.

Don't get me wrong, I'm praying to every god I've ever heard of that it happens. It would be unbelievable.

I hope it snows like a bastard on the night of the midweek game and we have to replay their game in mid April, a wanderers win pushing us on for play offs.

How sweet it is...

I hope the Doncaster team get a sickness bug in training and have to cancel and then they get docked 5 points ...

Does anyone know if we can pay a fee for any players in January or are we still restricted to frees and loans?

I very much doubt it. As far as I can tell, we're still under a registration embargo. I suppose we theoretically might be allowed to pay a small transfer fee but I doubt the EFL are feeling particularly lenient with us at the minute.

Pretty sure esteemed put something out there that we were in hock to the tune of 40 mill

Just after the takeover

He then pretty much said he didn't know what he was talking about

Iirc it's something like FV have pre agreement on up to £40m in loans, not that they have taken out a loan for that amount.

I have said before that Sharron Brittan has built a decent relationship with Debbie Jeavons. Two, maybe 3 with Emma B, women have probably sorted this out better than anyone could have imagined.

Everyone at the club needs to ensure that euphoria does not turn into complacency. Ipswich apart, this looks a poor league so we should stay up.

Peterbrough dont look bad either.  Look better than Ipswich to me, and we've got to play them twice yet.  But bring it on, I'm beyond feeling down if we lose a game or 2.

Thanks for the explanation.  That £40mil explains how we've gone out to buy our way out of trouble signing the likes of Chicksen, Emmanuel, Earl, O'Grady and Buckley,  with outrageous over the top bids to fight off the competition.  Money bags Bolton buying their way to success, its like Man City and Paris St Germain rolled into one.

Dunno about anyone else, but I am really enjoying the bitterness from other fans, especially those slackjaws in South Yorkshire.

"f**k them. Go over the heads of the EFL. Get UEFA involved. International Arbitration of Sport. Legal action. Every other format of football down to kids football it is common acceptance that if you don't turn up, the opposition gets 3 points.
The football league have let a team dictate what they do, which is not on.
The clear and obvious point Rovers need to make is that we WILL NOT play this game under any circumstances. They can throw fines at us, we have more money than Bolton.

Morality first, money later."

I'm rolling 😂

Jesus Christ. Cockwomble Yarkshire drama queens. Really embarrassing.

Well screw them and all the other two bob clubs who are blubbing cos they missed out on kicking us in the teeth when we were on our knees.

Bolton are back you fuckers.

Hopefully, they'll refuse to play, we get awarded the game and they get docked points.

Development squad played Thursday

Friday night / Saturday morning, our senior pros decide they won't play v Brentford

BWFC make plans for the Dev Squad to play Brentford

EFL block this on the ground of "Youth Protection"

Game not rearranged for 3/4 days later, EFL say to play it a few days after season ends.

Brentford can't fulfill that order and are awarded the game.

Roll forward to Donny and by the above sequence of events, our Dev Squad can't fulfill a fixture.

No case to answer. Maybe a fine for not letting doncaster know sooner, but the EFL created this loophole when they stopped the brentford game.

No real case to answer.
A suspended points deduction is no punishment and £35k isn't even a slap on the wrist.

The independent panel that made the decision on BWFC

  • Mr Dixon. Breightmet
  • Mr Thompson. Darcy Lever
  • Mr Dixon's mate Ron from Harrogate (they met doing shots in Benidorm, on Dave's stag do)
  • Big Gaz (no fixed abode, can we just get on with it, then go the pub)
  • Adrian ( just finishing off the cleaning, stuck my head round the door to see why the lights are still on, my Dads from Bolton originally and always talked about Burnden Park, and the atmosphere at night games, I'm with Gaz, let's go the pub, its student night, get a bag of snout and get on it)
  • Dave McTierney. Peckham. (Served in 3 Para with a lad called Tubsy from Bolton, great bloke, I'm Millwall, but always had a soft spot for Bolton because of Tubsy and the nights out we had in the town,  most memorable a hand job I got off a bird called Tina up a side alley near Ritzy, what times yer man coming Adrian) #BWFC #DRFC #UPTHESHITHOUSEWHITES
