Peterborough Away

Soft goal to concede, keeper flat footed. Suspicion of offside so would like another look, but wouldn’t kick off either way really.

Better side second half by a long stretch and just lacked a bit of quality in the final third. Looked much better when we changed shape and Luke Murphy went centre mid. Verlinden will be ace if someone can find him a heart.

Great support as always. Longest “we’re the one and only Wanderers” rendition for a while. Bring on more beer.

Feels like a draw to only lose 1-0 at Peterborough, I'd have snatched your hand off before the game not to get another drubbing (Accrington's result against 11 man Pompey today maybe adds a bit of perspective on our result with 10 men).   This was our bonus game in December, I expect us to compete on a more level playing field in the remaining games.  No excuses now for this run of games barring another set of injuries to key men, bring it on.

What's gone wrong with the defence?

When KH came in we tightened up pretty quickly, now it seems a bit shit.

Hobbs isnt perfect but I always think the defence looks more organised and compact with him in there.  No idea if he's likely to return soon though.

Coincidentally we lost 1-0 almost exactly 3 years ago, to a worse Posh team than today's.  Our line up was Howard, Thorpe, Beevers, Wheater, Taylor, Wilson, Vela, Trotter, Ameobi, Madine, Clough.  Clearly we'd prefer to have those 2 centre backs, Ameobi and possibly Clough on form.  But Bridcutt would get in any Bolton team of recent times.  Madine is at best the equal of Murphy at this late stage of his career.  Darcy/Vela and Trotter/Murphy is much of a muchness.  For all our problems, our current team is no worse than the one we had that day and we have a better manager.

Bridcutt wouldn't get in many Bolton teams as a fucking centre back

Absolute joke of a team selected by hill today

Not happy

More considered rant to follow in the morning

Fair enough I wasnt there, just talking about the players on the pitch rather than what position they played.  Marc Iles said he played some good stuff going forward today but obviously I bow to your greater knowledge today.  I hate the 5 at the back thing but even in midfield Bridcutt drops very deep to take the ball from the centre backs and build from the back (surely a better bet than letting a Beevers or Wheater launch it into touch?).

Home... fucking train journey that was, the colonel nearly died, Bolton youth fell asleep after 2 hours of abusing his dad, Sheff Wednesday fans were pretty humble and underpants shit himself every 2 minutes.

On to the match, we deserved the loss, hill playing a 5.7 midfielder at CB after the Accy debacle is an absolute shocking decision, Zouma has gone, Emmanuel cant defend he thinks he's now a winger. The Defence... there is none. The strikers... no service, Ref was usual L1 standard shite, support was brilliant.

What time train did you get? Was surprised how quiet half 6 train was. Was a very pleasant V1 journey at home until some 10 bob millionaire Salford rugby cunt piped up. Now in the George deliberating over a Cumberland.

Must admit I’m worried about Hill after a good start I think he’s looking like a complete mentalist with some of his selections and his behaviour is at times one flew over the cuckoos nest.
