Sunderland Boxing Day

Gutting that we havent scored today with the chances we've had.  When you think we scored 3 on Saturday with hardly any attacks in 90 minutes, and today it just wont go in.  Its got a 1-0 defeat written all over it, but I'm going to think positive because if the first half hour of the Southend game was as bad as I've ever seen, the first 70 minutes of today's game sounds as encouraging as we've had since that 3 game winning run ages ago.

They were just saying on GMR that McGeady is dropped from the squad completely by Parky.  One of the top half dozen attacking players in this poor division, it beggars belief.  Glad he's not playing today but if Parky's still there in Jan I bet McGeady wont be, he'll have loads of offers from better teams than Sunderland.

Was bullying some of their younger players apparently

Wish some of them would get their facts right.

Apparently we've not kept a clean sheet in 37 games and no away points!

Still, I can sympathise with their feelings.

One of em said "whos there manager now? Dressed like hes out walking his dog'

Bless em not a happy bunch. Id like to tell them though that we are not the worst team in the league, that is not our first away point of the season  and  was not our first away clean sheet  either.

I cant tell them anything they dont already know about their manager thougn. Pmsl

Quite funny on their forum, I like this message :-

"Whose Bolton's manager now? He just looks like some fella whose pulled his gear on to walk the dog?"

And this one:-

Now lets think, we need to score, lets toss a defender on. Yes that's the way to win the game.

Laughed at the dog walker analogy.

He was ready for the boozer last week, happen he takes the dog in.

Darcy has to score at least one of those first half chances

Murphy has to score that second half header

Bridcutt needs playing in midfield

And I'm 90 per cent their disallowed goal was a goal

I'd have taken a point, but it needed to be more based on the play

The disallowed goal was a strange one could of gone both ways not sure Mathews had both hands on the ball  but it did look like the player  barged into him Nat style

He was in the Ainsworth Arms Xmas eve.Plenty of folk walking up and having a friendly word or two, he's very approachable and always up for a chat and a laugh.

That's good I suppose, though he must get a bit fed up from time to time, wanting a bit of peace.
