Keith Hill

gonzo

Talked to someone this morning and they reckoned Hill had been saying pre Christmas we'd definitely get further points knocked off. Wonder if he was banking on that to ease any pressure this season and when no further points were deducted he felt the pressure?

I don't see fans piling pressure on to stay up. His comments have become increasingly odd to the point of bizarre. I wonder if he cannot cope with this job - ultimately he failed at Barnsley - perhaps for similar reasons? Different managing Rochdale where sometimes its one man and his dog there?

I felt that too then his second interview seemed much more measured.

Now Iles' Monday morning report has reignited it all but I think it's all based on that original interview? Bit irresponsible if so.

Either way, I just wish he'd (KH) rein it in a bit. The siege mentality should be the club as a whole against everyone else not just Hill against everyone.

What's baffled me most is there's not actually been much criticism, for once we seem a bit more realistic as a fan base. No need for a crusade, Keith, we're actually with you. Or we were... Feels like he's lost the social media dressing room.

Don't really see where he's coming from tbh. Most people are sensible enough to either be behind him or at least prepared to give him time.

If we struggle to make an impact in L2 that is likely to change but for now, most seem realistic about where we are. Not everyone will be behind him but that will be the same for most managers at clubs throughout the divisions.

Crack on Keith and build for next season

Is it wrong or too early to be concerned over his mental health?

Some of the comments don't stack up, but if there are genuine problems with personnel, he needs to sort them.

Washing linen in public doesn't help anyone.

Maybe time for Sharon to put an arm round his shoulder?

I’d go with that he thought this season is money for nothing for him and perhaps he was told further points are on the way

no disrespect to Rochdale but he ain’t managing some small club and maybe in the past his rants would get swept aside

I have said tongue & cheek about this season ending but it can’t come quick enough, he needs to stop the chatting and get focused on league 2.

He's getting in my tits now. I wish he'd concentrate on coaching the team how to defend and to keep hold of the ball, rather than going on paranoid rants over one or two criticisms he's heard about on social media from his daughter or whoever.

He'll never have another chance of managing a club as big as ours and he's in danger of talking himself into getting thrown out of it.

You can attack a lot of things at this football club and yes we have the odd moronic fan but one thing you can’t question is the fans of this club.
The following we have at away games is brilliant even though we know we’re going down this season.

Keep quiet Keef, you’ve got the longest pre-season to get ready for next season, then you really be under pressure to get us straight back up but you’ll still have the backing of the fans.

Sorry but esteemed journalists don't go out of their way to cover what he said up. Even if he re-recorded the interview, once anything is said and on record, tough shit, it's out there. Saying Iles is irresponsible for reigniting any issues is bollocks because if he hadn't, as many folk would be having a go at him for not reporting the truth.

Are we still a big club? We've got a great stadium and great facilities but the team is certainly out of its depth right here right now.

Oh no bother with Iles on the whole (I was also one of his backers when he was getting grief during the KA dynasty).

But, his report this morning makes no mention of the other more calm interview, which might have provided some balance. He surely knew it'd inflame or refresh the angry reaction that he'd already seen across Twitter.

Then again, Hills first response when asked who he was referring to was "the press", so I wouldn't be surprised if Iles is a bit pissed off.

Keith's supposedly apologised now saying he didn't mean to cause offence with his interview with Marc today. All good him saying that then when we get beat off Lincoln bipolar Keith having another pop at the fans.

We should all move on, Hill hopefully learnt a lesson.

No it's not. Fucked is what it would have been if it weren't for Auntie Sharon & co.

Intensive care maybe but not fucked.

You're right about KH mind, but a win will help.

i can excuse his mild whinge about supporters

what iles should be pushing him on is the internal splits he refers to

Yes. For the immediate future, and indeed next season if there are splits, they need to be resolved. Word spreads within the game, and we need to be able to attract decent players to a club pulling in the same direction, not the opposite.

Interesting interview here. Reading between the lines either Hill or FV or both have more or less given this season up and are looking towards next season. There are ways that could have been communicated and I suspect the issues within the club are players expecting to stay were told last minute they were not.

On the one hand “people need to stop comparing me to allardyce. Or Parkinson” literally no one had

“I keep getting told what we did the last time we were in league 1”

On the other hand, he doesn’t read the papers or social media. So who the fucks been telling him all this?

so far he’s talked a better game than he’s delivered. Started by saying “we were going to war blah blah” some of the showings over the last few weeks have waved the white flag

”the team needs to learn how I want them to work without the ball” conceded 19 goals in the last 8 league games...

I switched off from his interviews after about the 3rd one because he was making some bold claims and I thought this fella is going to be fucking brilliant or a lunatic

some way to go yet before he’s delivering anywhere near what he talks about
