It’s a tough one with Hill, I really liked the appointment, difficult to appraise given the circumstances and I don’t want to be overly critical but The goals we concede are too familiar and like last night you finish the game feeling like we could’ve done more.

ive no idea who would be the good fit to kick us on.

See, it is possible to post something sensible on the subject

Id have more time for the sacking crew if they werent the same with every manager we have

I cant beleve the negativity towards the manager tbh. Doesnt seem to have clicked that currently there are very few if any managers that we could get who would do any better given the state of the club.

This idea that FV are going to fire off Hilly at end of season is pie in sky as well. Wed have to be looking at relegation to non league next season otherwise Hillcroft are staying put

What makes you say this? We will see in regards to Hill being at the club next season, doesn't his contract finish end of this season? I'm sure FV will review him & Flitcroft what they are trying to achieve for next season, I know they are not happy with his outburst's he made about the fans.

I still rate Gary Bowyer to be fair, been dealt some shit with the jobs he's taken on. Never should have taken the Blackburn job in the first place though, he had reservations from the beginning that came to be realised, then took what came with his further jobs at car crash clubs.

Not that I'm saying I'd have him but he'd do more of a job than Hill.

Surely, if you think Bowyer would do a better job than KH you would have him as manager.

I want the best available (and affordable) manager in charge of my club.

I wouldn't be sacking him but he's certainly not filling anyone with any confidence in his ability. Its grim right now - very very grim. Most of that isn't Hill's fault but I do feel we've missed a chance to have a go. And some of that is his fault. He has the air of Coyle about him - platitudes and "positives" but lacking in real substance. A good manager would be building a unit that is exceptionally hard to break down and hard to beat. Putting things in place - but Hill lurches from one thing to another. Are the loan players we let go and Chicksen seriously worse than what he's brought in? In my view they were better. That to me shows a worrying lack of judgement. He then complains about disruption....

If you take his statements at face value, he needs to go

Now

But, I think there other things at play

No way does he sign that left back over Chicksen in normal circumstances

And then, 2 games later, we have Bunney available who now can't get a game

Its all very strange and certainly beyond me

Fair enough if he still here next season i'll back & hope he turns all around next season, hopefully FV make the right decision whether it's with Hill or not as it's vital for club's future.

Its possible - also possible that he just has poor judgement.

Hill must have really not rated Hall at all (mouthful) to have been putting Faal on benches just to make up the numbers.

Props to Marc Iles also for forgetting a second time that he played against Lincoln, he said himself after that game he hadn't realised he came on 😀

Well as you say, I'd want the best available and I'm not 100% certain he is. Miles better than Hill though and been dealt a shit hand in the jobs he's taken. Personally I'd be happy having him but know there's probably more appropriate choices for the task at hand and level we'll be at.

Not a chance I would have Gary Bowyer after the job he's just recently done at Bradford, they had Eoin Doyle banging then in for Swindon recalled him back & he couldn't get anything out of him, now he's gone back to Swindon he's back scoring again. This is in the division that we are currently heading in

How does a manager stop a player from scoring? Always interested me that concept

Style of play the manager likes to play? , ie Parkinson with Le Fondre fucking hoofing it up to him, Tyler Walker & Adam Armstrong other examples

Armstrong was played out of position wide iirc. Le fondre scored plenty when he played .

eoin Doyle has been around years. Has had 3 good seasons in amongst them. Sometimes it just clicks. Possibly it’s the quality of supply which funnily enough doesn’t come from the manager but the players around them.

The thing is can we afford to give anyone ten games next season.

They have to commit to Hill or ditch him now.. Next season is the most important season in our history. As things stand the is a real possibility we will be out of the league come May 21.

The squad we have now I believe is good enough to avoid this, but they need guidance leadership.

So for me we either back him or sack him. The is no middle ground.

Isn't this a decision from a manager, Parkinson played him out wide so he didn't get the best out of him. Another one for you Kevin Davies under Blackburn done nothing & with us under Big Sam played to his strengths. Of course some manager's have a impact in a player's performance.

Agree playing someone out of position is a managerial choice. My point is eoin Doyle who you highlighted as the reason you wouldn’t have Gary bowyer didn’t play eoin Doyle out wide. Nor did the other managers who couldn’t get a tune out of him. Sometimes it just clicks

gary bowyer is a much better football manager than Keith hill and would be a great appointment for us. But it’s irrelevant anyway as we have a manager and until that changes it’s all pointless

Kevin Davies was a tricky winger and then a sort of forward. Sam converted him in his latter years to a target man.

Players like Le Fondre etc will do well in very specific teams and setups. Not sure its down to the manager always since to accomodate a striker like that you need a better midfield than we ever had which often isn't down to the manager but down to money available.
