That was my hope for the season when we had that run prior to accy away that he would get us to 12 points off staying up and I could have that as a success.

Even say 15/16 points off where he could say "missed first 6 games". But regardless the form we've had would have sent us down without any points off.

I can't help feeling that we'd still be in the relegation zone even if KH had been in charge from day 1 and the  -12 points hadn't happened.

Agreed.

We have shown zero signs of progression for me since he came in - relegation inevitable or not we still needed some improvement and progression and it hasnt happened so for me we get rid in the summer.

Replicating the form to Christmas, post Christmas would've had us in with a chance

The better players were then binned off

Still not having it that he wanted rid of em

Well - pre Christmas under Hill we took an average of 1.2 points per game.

In the 16 games post Christmas had we done that we'd have an extra 10 points and currently be on 22 points. I'm not sure that consitutes as a "chance" - we'd be 11 points adrift but certainly better than now. Also worth pointing out that form from mid-November onwards took a dive. From Accrington onwards through to end of December we were under 1ppg. And that was with "the better players".

I’m getting the impression now that FV are going to replace KH at the end of the season. There’s a few changes happening and as much as anything else if it does happen he’ll have talked himself out of a job with his abrasive outbursts. Don’t think his style will fit in with the plans for the future.

Agreed.

Can't remember who made the point but surely the bare minimum for him was to look back at the end of the season and think that but if for that points deduction we might've stopped up. Instead we're going down with the biggest whimper ever.

Listened to the Buff podcast today and Iles' co-host said that Keith has a '12 game audition' for next season. What has he done to even deserve that?

It's the 3rd time in 5 seasons the club has accepted it was going down and given up with 3 different managers.

I listened to that as well, they'll be scraping the barrel in a few months time if they're having a guest presenter on every week. The chap on today was decent though, I like the quirky quaintness of the old reserve team football.

If it's certain he's out of contract at end of season, we're surely just going through the motions now to save having to pay him off.

This is the most depressing and soul destroying part of it, this enduring the final 2, 3, 4 months of a dead season is terrible once but multiple times in quick succession is torture.

I call bollocks that he’s been told that.

Daft thing is, up until his little outburst after Rochdale and the capitulation at accy, there’s no reason why we couldn’t have made a proper fist of stopping up. For a short time it was on.

We’d have caught Southend no sweat, and who knows about anyone else.

It didn’t have to be this way.

Im not a anti hill by any stretch but it shouldn’t be like this.

It’s an interesting argument as to how much it was/is Lennon’s, Parkinson’s and Hill’s fault

One thing for certain, shipping 5 goals in four consecutive games didn't help pre-KH.

Oh god I came away from that stoppage time winner at home to MK proper jubilant, I was convinced we were gonna not just get close but survive by a decent margin. Convinced.

Fallen to bits since then.

A bit conspiracy theory like but I've started wondering if KH has been basically mugged off from day 1 and win/lose/draw he was always only going to be here for a year.

I think it was always on for him and Flitcroft to be here for one season only, unless the miracle of UniBol came off. Now that it isn't happening they both are here just to mind the shop.

At the end of the season I expect a "thanks to Hillcroft for their efforts, insurmountable odds etc" ,by mutual agreement statement.

Onwards and upward in D2  with Aunty Sharons already hatching plan.

Maybe, though making the move now may make youngster(s) think more positively about committing to stay.

Those stats are quite worrying... he's never actually done a good job anywhere!

End of season, can him off, and take pick of those that are available (as more will be then than in March) - plus who wants to come in now and have a relegation on their CV?

There are enough things to have a pop at Hill about without making stuff up.

From Twitter:

"Will football clubs sack their manager before 6th April 2020 or will they wait for the end of the season?  New government tax regulations mean that clubs will have to pay national insurance (13.8%) on termination payments over £30k. Will this affect the decision making?"

The answer is Highly unlikely

The only one I can see affecting Football Managers would be ex-gratia payments.

This was supposed to come in about 2 years ago

As he been sacked or something hes been too quiet I would have expected him to be mouthing off on the BEN about footballing issues.

Well we’ve kept a lot of clean sheets recently but this new rock solid defence meanS we’ve not done much up front. Transfer window is closed so not much to chat about.
