Gove saying a lack of chemicals but Chemical Industries association says this isn’t true and if there was a shortage they could easily increase production. The journalists all going with Germany as an example. Testing 70,000 a day whereas we’ve still not managed 10,000. Needs a proper answer. Might not be happy with it, no one is, but if they are struggling to get hold of materials what do you propose? The answer is clear. Journalists and people alike might not like what they hear, but repeatedly asking the same question over and over isn't going to get a different answer. It may be that Germany produces more of the materials we need than we do- they're clearly goin to look after their own first. If you're putting brexit into things, then the need to boost levels of manufacturing was important for me as we were too low. This now perhaps highlights it in starker terms than ever. The people that make the materials say that’s not true though. And have said the government haven’t requested an increased supply. So if that’s the issue why haven’t they asked for more to be produced? And that doesn’t explain why Germany are able to test on such a vast scale. They haven’t answered it. Full stop.
