It cant, can it

Unless your licking them, surely?

Edit...im assuming you meant contracted

Yes it can be contracted from surfaces. The harder the more likely, stainless steel is apparently one of the worst as it can survive for up to 72 hours.

The advice is simple, dont touch these surfaces if you dont have to, if you do dont touch your face,  then wash your hands properly. Someone posted a really good video on here a couple of days back demonstrating the correct technique for handwashing. Doing it for 2 lots of happy  birthday  means fuck all if dont do it properly.

Can someone explain to me about the testing? Heard all that stuff about one day v 90 minutes but what was that test on the news where the guy took a couple of drops of blood and had a response withing 10 minutes? Is it an antibody test - i.e. the important one?

Has it not been approved?

If you died in a care home or your own home without having been in hospital, you wont have been tested

Unless you knew a senior politician

So unless there was an autopsy it wouldn't be ascribed to being Covid ergo not in the figures?

Thats my understanding

Pretty much only testing is at hospital, so if youve not been, you wont have been tested

But if youve not been tested, theres no way of saying its covid

Much more likely to be pneumonia

Although in America, can’t you just sack someone on the spot?

Yes very different laws than us. Varies state by state but even the most protected are miles behind us and we in turn are way behind some other countries.

My word corona is making me drink.

Today I picked Some stuff up for my grandma. She’s 80 and her birthday is on Sunday, she lives alone, a son in Australia and a son in New York, so she has very little chance of seeing them any time soon.
Today I put stuff on her doorstep knocked on the door and walked to the car, she came to the door and looked at me so lost and lonely and it fuckin broke my heart that I couldn’t go and hug her, it absolutely broke me to the point that I think the last time I cried was 3 years ago when my daughter was born.

Its a fuckin shit time for the outside looking in but it’s a shit time for the old dears in on their own with no interaction and very little perks in the day it must be a long fucking day.

Anyways I’m pissed because it’s all a bit mad at the moment

The market is king.

Thatcher's Britain......

Basic economics. In every crisis there’s always winners and losers. sad when it’s at the expense of people’s health and potentially life or death  just not sure how it can be stopped sadly

Saw something recently from Italy about this

Loads are dying at home / nursing homes and cause of death isn’t being attributed to Covid when it’s likely to have been the trigger

Would indicate the numbers are likely a lot higher than reported

Thanks for the economics lesson mate.😀.  Maybe UNISON should demand double pay for nurses or everybody out?

Or maybe they shouldn't as it would be as morally reprehensible as the example above?

No lesson attempted

I wouldn’t argue at every member of nhs staff earning below a certain level being given a pay rise and would happily have my income tax increased marginally to cover it

What’s the hold up with PPE?

Imo I thought it was explained quite well on Question Time. It’s not the level of stock, it’s the logistics/delivery

When the bomb went off at the MEN arena  I was involved in getting crucial kit into all the local North West hospitals. This was life-saving stuff. Negative pressure machines, dressings, the whole works. And this was FOC stock. No invoices nothing.  It was a nightmare.

Easy enough to deliver. The supply chain is something else entirely. Nowt to do with politics. Nowt to do with funding. Simple logistics. I’m sure that plenty in here are involved in logistics/delivery to the end user. It’s not simple

We need to give it time. Social distancing, quite rightly, means that this has all been slowed down. Unfortunately

I am, and i can have a pallet anywhere in the country next day

I can have a parcel to most places in the country, next day, for 4.50

There are delivery drivers who have been furloughed

There really is NO excuse for not getting the stuff distributed
