I think the media are doing exactly what they should be for once.

Their job aint to be a mouthpiece for the government. They seem to have realised that during this crisis.

Exactly. They are reporting honestly rather than dealing in approved spin.

That’s ridiculous. They are there to report and have editorial opinion. When they did that for the election you didn’t have an issue. When the spectator were releasing articles saying the measures were over the top you didn’t call them out, you said they were interesting pieces for debate, yet they were heavily critical of government policy.

What you really mean is the media is a disgrace unless it echoes my world view.

The fact elements of the media who were integral in getting Boris elected have now criticised him for some things is surely a great thing - it shows that in a crisis the media will ask pertinent questions and not just tow the same old lines. Otherwise we are basically Chernobyl.

Whatever, mate

I don't think anyone's being forced to sign one?

The question i referred to was around DNR

Reporrer asked whether it was reasonable to write to whichever group it was telling folk they wont attempt to prolong life

Nurse waffled on with a stock answer about it being a matrer for patient, family and medics to talk through

But equally just giving them a free ride and letting them muddle through it aint helping anybody either.

If you're genuinely in a position of offer advice to help the fight, fine. But do so in the correct way- contact the authorities and get involved in a beneficial way.

Those that know no more than the rest of us, screeching and spreading shite around (particularly on social media) are only hampering efforts.

BBC have just done a bit, where they debunked some bullshit spread on such platforms.

My brother also sent me a couple of these things on WhatsApp with the usual "send it to everyone" bollocks at the bottom.

I told him the message was full of inaccuracies and should not be sent to anyone. And deleted it.

I can’t believe the amount of videos and articles doing the rounds showing groups of people ignoring the stay at home/social distancing rules.

what’s wrong with people?

Beggars belief doesn't it?

I've had a mate of mine asking if he can come around tomorrow. Would love to say yes but no chance!

No I’ve not but I am aware of people who have had CPR and are thriving.

Whilst I accept and understand the point that you are making and also acknowledge your profession means you have expertise in this area but I think you are drawing your conclusion from matters in every day life and not in emergency times where this can be interpreted badly.

Interesting you’d choose death. I’d choose life and that’s seemingly where our opinions differ.

I agreed dnr's for both my parents

I also refused to have them transferred to hospital

They died as peacefully as could be

Sometimes death is better than shit life

In one Casino. It's a tough decision at the time. But dying with dignity, peacefully and hopefully surrounded by my loved ones is the way I want to go! ♥️

An interesting one this, difficult to really make a call either way until presented with the situation.

It must be a proper shitter.

My Grandma died this summer. She was on oxygen support on G4. Getting brilliant care but she had no chance of waking back up bless her. The only thing that was keeping her going was the O2 they were giving her through a mask.

I knew that she would die pretty quickly if they took it off - but had to practically persuade the medics that it was the right thing to do.

Eventually they relented and she died peacefully within 15 minutes. She could have gone on for weeks if they'd kept that mask on. Slowly deteriorating.

Sometimes letting somebody go peacefully is the most amazing and compassionate thing you can do for someone.

We’ve been discussing Fairfield hospital and the 50 year old cut off point.

What he said echoes everything I’ve been saying. We need to work together but that doesn’t mean where things look wrong we shouldn’t call them out. This is about life saving.  And whatever you give the government out of ten if we can get other constructive voices in we can only improve that score.

I am no fan of the Tories. But asking the same question 10 times as some journalists are doing to highlight any errors is tedious.

I am in the 7/10 camp so far. Just hope after the event is not all about to 3 that could have been better.

I also hope that any scrutiny on calls made by doctors in this crisis is made with due reflection on the circumstances. You can almost imagine the ambulance chasers getting their adverts ready. ‘Medical negligence claim’ will be a boom industry in 6 months the fucking leeches. Representing the panic buying pud going partying dick heads.
