Not quite balmy here in Bolton yet, looks like we’ve fallen for the ‘Brighton’ weather forecast so beloved of the BBC

Eh?

Don't most people watch the weather forecast and see what it's going to be like for where they live, which is why they generally have regional forecasts!? ? Why on earth are you watching the weather for other parts of the country?

For the record, as per my regional forecasts of the last few days, its absolutely lovely here

Got to differ slightly there. Paths around our way have never been busier. They're not overly wide, with not a lot of open space to keep well away from other folk.

There are however three large areas of fields and open space within 3 or 4 minutes drive.

We go, take all three dogs at once, they have a blast for a while, and no one within a hundred metres. Maybe more.

Weighing up the relative risks, the large open field is the safest and wisest option.

Wouldn't contemplate a drive to a well known/used beauty spot though.

That's probably the best way to go about it. I think it's the morons who turn it in to a Picnic that are going to be the ones who cause a tighter lockdown situation.

There are 3/4 very popular beachesnear me and I absolutely guarantee they will be packed later this afternoon.

The Sunday before lockdown two weeks ago I had to go and drop something off down the Coast road and a journey that takes 20 mins took one hour and 5 minutes due to volume of traffic and people pouring in and out of the car parks. Can’t see it being overly different today

When Shed D’Lostock is open aka Lostock and Two Smoking Barrels is open I’d like to invite you both for a beer, game of arrows and even maybe a sing song.

Keep on rocking in the free world guys. We’re all super proud x

You need plenty of poly filler. I can get a needle in any vein fine, but absolutely shocking at darts 👍

I enjoy a walk, but I'm keeping well away from places that will be busy.. that's common sense..

I live walking distance from Crompton Lodges but I certainly wouldn't go there, or Farnworth Park (despite FP being pretty empty).

Apparently Crompton Lodges carpark is shut, but people are just parking on the road. Get the police to go down issuing fines, rules simple, you shouldn't be driving to a place to exercise.

If only it were. The Government guidelines state that people shouldn't travel to exercise, but the legislation doesn't forbid it.

If people persist in travelling to exercise and they do it in increasing numbers then an emergency amendment will be required.

The front page of the Mail Online has Matt Hancock looking very serious, demanding that everybody stays in doors and threatening further action if not.

Three of the five stories immediately alongside and below are from a Swede saying we've gone too far, a Supreme Court judge saying lockdown is unneccesary and the new deputy leader of the Labour Party defending sunbathers.

It's no wonder people are fucking confused.

Defending sunbathers?

Poor. Unfit for office?

The problem is clear. The message is stay in your houses. But there are exceptions. And people are finding ways to bend and twist the exceptions. And giving them excuses isn’t helping. I sort of agree with what Rayner says in that for me this is fine. I’ve a garden and even if not allowed out for exercise I have outside space to use. But people without that in flats etc  it’s tough and not letting them out could be counter productive in the long haul. But it’s the wrong way to have said it.

In fairness, she's said its OK to do in your own back garden if you have one, she's not suggesting going to a park or the beach to do it is she.

10 mile walk this morning before a soul was really about. Down the coastal path along the sea front and back. Cleared the mind a treat. Home breakfast demolished and now a day in the garden. Might go a walk later tonight But that will be the extent of my activities today mate.

I’ve been told that Fife coastal path between North Queensferry and Inverkeithing is very busy with joggers, cyclists and walkers.

I love walking over the Forth Road Bridge and calling in the Ferry Tap in South Queensferry and then catching the train back from Dalmeny.

Was pretty scary the first time I did it.

Which bit did you walk? Crammond 🤔🤔

Poor form from the Scotch CMO

Clearly shes fucked up, not once but at least twice

But, i took two things from the conference

Syurgeon took the blows for one of her team, very impressive

The questioners were a set of absolute cocks.  Asking the same questions over and over again, when it was clear krankie was having none of it

It seemed more important for them getting her head on a plate than discussing the virus

Is that any different to the media south of the border though? There would be a witch hunt of huge proportions if this had been powis or Whitty or similar

I wasn't really making a point about Rayner - what she was actually saying was far less dangerous (in terms of encouraging people to flout the rules) than the other blokes saying we should bin off lockdown altogether. But those are classed as 'open minded' opinions for some reason.

It was more how certain media publications are having their cake and eating it by egging on the 'it's just bad flu' crowd for clicks, confusing others and in the process completely diluting the government's message.

Crammond is ok. Many many more nice places to walk than that just ask if you are up here and want some nice walks mate

if you are up again and around that area then Scott’s at south queensferry is lovely for food and also a new place called down the hatch does American/Canadians style food. Very nice
