anyway, the memo hasn't been received near the rocket

There is data which shows that the recent protests, raves etc have not contributed to any uptick in infection

One gets worried when people like Andy Burnham and Sir Keir Starmer agree it’s a great decision

Yes that’s why I posted burnhams twitter post last night.

really concerning this and with the sporting pilots now being canned makes me even more concerned.

worrying times. Can’t see us being allowed out the house in winter but for work and only then with the upmost precautions in place

God knows how long it will take for a vaccine to be available

When it is available, how long will it take to be able to vaccinate 40m+ people

feels like this is at least 18 months away

We need a plan B so we have an economy left to go back to

One of the upsides of having  a surge in cases around the world means that the vaccine trials will speed up,  some people think early spring is viable, probably more like summer 2021 for some of the trials I think, with it rolled out to protect against flu season 2021/2022 -  hope I'm wrong.

There will be several vaccines of varying quality, have to hope the ones that finish trial early are effective ones, and that we can get hold if it - US, UK and Switzerland is where most of the big pharama companies are based but it may be the Chinese govmt

The list of the 26 that are in trial are here  https://www.who.int/publications/m/item/draft-landscape-of-covid-19-candidate-vaccines

earliest phase 3 end i can see is the oxford uni one, July next year - Chinese govmt ones may be sooner, but how likley are we to get them and who will want to take it?

Talking to nurse in charge of immunisations in Durham and Teesside last week and she was very confident they would be giving the vaccine in the next 6-9 months, I have no idea where shes got info from but I'd presume shes privy to more then most, I've been clinging on to that the last week or so

think it's too late for that

half the problem is that it's a virus

the other half is that the government have faffed about from the start with unclear messaging and a half arsed attempt at lockdown, which folk were allowed to get bored of relatively quickly, meaning this latest lockdown will not be properly adhered to either, nor will any other plans moving forward won't either

the approach so far means we're going to get more spikes and localised lockdowns moving forward, and they're likely to get worse in the winter - but they won't be 100% adhered to, which means it's not going away till we do get a vaccine

I've been in ma mums all morning, ripping the fireplace out ready to have a new one fitted tomorrow. Should I not have done that but a lad she barely knows can come in and fit the new one tomorrow?? He can hardly work from home on that.

Genuine question by the way, it fries my brain all this.

I’m in a pub right now. On my own. Social distancing. So I’m obeying the rules.

I am amazed how many cohabiting males there are though.

What a wimpy pub, every fucker in the Ale House were decked down to shorts at 9-00 this morning soaking the last day of July up in the beer garden.
