So I personally know...

A nurse whose best friend died also working as nurse

A matron working at a London hospital who said they watched dozens of people die from it in a very short period and seems traumatised by the experience

A friend who is 50 who lost both his parents to it and was hospitalised himself

A neighbour who works in care home and lost 7 of 10 residents to it

A friend who is 37 and fit as a fiddle who spent almost a month laid up in bed

No virus? Fuck off

Don’t normally post on here but Casino knows me and I work with a mutual friend of his. So he can verify it. Ive had Covid. Was in hospital April 13th with it and I’m still suffering today. Can’t walk 50 metres without being out of breath and I get extremely tired all the time. Its wiped me out for months. I’m middle aged with no previous conditions and never been ill. It’s definitely not a fake virus.

The longer this goes on, the more conspiracy theories there will be, there isn't any doubt that the world has been hit by a new virus, but to what extent compared to other virus'.

I think those sceptical are talking about and having an opinion based on numbers this week, they are relatively low and people just want to put some perspective on it. Lockdown has been eased for 2 months now, yet number have decreased steadily to what they are today. We just wanna see our mates at the footie or in the pub and not have to talk to each other without a mask on, doesn't make them cunts, they just want their life back.

100% agree. How quickly (or slowly) we should get back to "normal" and how we get there is open to massive debate. But the suggestion that there is no virus or that locking down probably didn't save many lives is hard to hear for those who have been directly affected.

Add to that it’s likely 70% have some immunity to Covid despite never having it and I’m of the same opinion.

Where's the immunity come from?

I can only think it’s come from being exposed to other similar virus.

I assume Peely is is also asking where you've heard "it’s likely 70% have some immunity to Covid despite never having it"  - as presumably you can only be immune if you've actually had a strain of it

As an aside, I only know 2 people that have had it, obviously myself and it was shit, and nearly 4 months later I'm still a bit fucked, always knackered and get out of breath doing even the most menial of tasks. The other person I know who got it was one of my friends, who sadly died aged just 51, leaving a wife and a 7 year old son . He fell into the "pre-exisiting condition" camp, as he had liver problems, for which he was on medication.....although without COVID, he was expected to still live his life out as normal, but just be on tablets or whatever it was he took.

When it first started it was fully expected that we’ll all get the virus and the lottery was about how fit we were to deal with it. This has proved not to be the case. I’m still worried that I may end up with it but not so worried about the result being fatal.

I know two people who have died of C19; one was an elderly neighbour, a week or two shy of her 90th birthday who went into hospital after a minor fall. The other a recently retired GP who returned to work in Oldham to help with the pandemic. This means they both contacted C19 through visiting a hospital.

I’m currently working part time in the funeral industry. Yesterday, for the first time, I wore a mask whilst driving the limo; as did all the occupants. Is a cloth mask worn over a bearded face going to prevent airborne transfer of any virus? Not a chance!

I didn’t say there was no virus.

I’m on about the lockdown. I’m saying it takes more exposure for the virus to pass.

I’m saying it’s gonna be around forever so we may as well just crack on and get things going and some of lockdown restrictions we’ve seen were well over the top and is gonna smash the countries economy for a long time and cause more suffering than the disease itself.

Its tragic, folk have lost their lives and wiggy and co i apologise if I sound insestive, that’s not my intention. I realise it’s caused huge amounts of grief.

I just think locking down schools was never gonna stop people dying in care homes.

The Idea of lockdown was to stop the NHS getting overloaded. I’ve no idea what current restrictions are in place for.

Some scientists are saying that there are levels of immunity already in the community, part of the study looked at the diamond princess where conditions were ideal for Covid to spread throughout the ship yet about 70% didn’t catch it.

Precisely. Of course there’s a virus out there but if it’s right that large % of folk have some type of immunity then lockdown is a big mistake, Nobel scientist saying exactly this, I posted his video last week, worth a look again.

@Sweep, bet you never thought you'd see your name in the same sentence as Tom Hanks, Idris Elba and Eddie Large.

presumably this is the T cell business. Quite an interesting bit of science. Still awaiting for research and from what I understand it might mean you can fight it off better/quicker but not necessarily not catch it.

Yeah everyone knows it was made by the Chinese to undermine the stock market so they buy up controlling interests in US pharma companies one of which will come up with a miracle cure.
To be fair the knock on will be to undermine Trump so their lackey Biden can get elected.
The impact on Wigan was a fortunate but not planned consequence too.

No need to apologise. For the most part, everyone is just wondering what the best way is to get through this without letting a shit load of people die from the virus whilst causing the least long-term damage.

Didn't know what that was, however having read up, I agree.

Anyway,

A roll call of definite or probable covid sufferers on here:

Kent

Sweep

Swanny

Alf Hartigan

Manc whites

Sure there was another one or two. Any other takers?

A few there, especially when you add in others that may not know.
