He probably isn't. The nearest locations tend to vary on a day-to-day basis, presumably as a result of allocating staff to more "at-risk" areas as and when required. I've had to book two tests within a few days of each other. The first time, there were slots available at the old Moor Lane bus station, the second time the nearest drive-through test centre was in Blackburn, and the nearest walk-in facility was in Middleton.

I’m pretty sure he’s aware of the difficulties. Making a political point about it though doesn’t help one bit. People spreading it helps even less.
Try getting an appointment at the dentist for a check up.
This is an unprecedented occurrence. That really should go without saying but instead of trying to work with the guidance, too many people just want to criticise and find fault with everything the authorities do.

Ciuple of points

Its either the nearest place and if it is, its not good enough

Or its not the nearest place and the system is shite

Some people on here couldn’t order a season ticket online. Was it the system or the people? Some found it easy some didn’t. It’s normal. No drama.

Saw this earlier which was interesting, could they do the same to this lad from Bolton?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/world-europe-isle-of-man-53814795

A man who went to the pub twice when he should have been in quarantine after returning from abroad has been jailed.

Paul Dowd, of Demesne Road, Douglas admitted visiting a shop and a pub in Douglas on 7 August, and a different pub in Onchan the following day.

Under the island's Covid-19 rules, travellers returning to the Isle of Man are required to self-isolate at home for 14 day.

It seems like a reasonable thing for a local MP to raise. Most MPs will attempt to improve the lot of their constituents/local residents, it's their job to do so.

And the system asks you to enter your postcode before then telling you where the nearest test centre is. It seems harsh to blame that on the person using it.

100 per fucking cent. Negativity spreads negativity. Many many thousands are tested daily, and not a comment from him.

Hugely unhelpful in a unique situation.

To add insult to injury, one woman complaining because she'd caught a plane back from Portugal at an inflated price. Government's fault for not imposing quarantine upon return. Unbelievable.

I was told quite reliably today that Bradshaw Cricket Club had been one of the problem spots, but someone who had been " traced " from there got a test pretty much straight away at Blackburn.

& best wishes to James " Twiggy ", a proper dedicated Wanderers' fan & nice bloke, who i'm sure a few on here know.

News from the Rigbys...

🦠COVID-19 UPDATE:🦠

Following the news yesterday that a player from our 2nd XI has tested positive for COVID-19, we have acted on this with GMCL advice and closed Bradshaw CC for 7 days starting from yesterday.

All matches and training sessions are cancelled.

On twitter?

Wonder if he contacted the testing authorities or similar on his constituent's behalf, or just took the opportunity to gripe on social media.

Could be doing him a disservice and he might have made a few calls, but I doubt he will have achieved anything for the fella.

Looking to make capital at the expense of the government is the nature of being in opposition, so no change there. However times are a bit different.

Fwiw, if roles were reversed I'm quite sure some Tory MPs would do exactly the same.

The authorities are taking it seriously in Bolton tonight. There is an electronic screen up in Nelson Sq telling people to stay 2 metres apart and keep Bolton out of lockdown. Also two police vans parked up there and police walking round looking for people not abiding. The Balmoral is closed for the night as well...

You think the French are doing it better? Nearly 9 thousand cases yesterday. Calls for Macron to resign. Protests in Berlin last week when protesters tried to storm the Reichstag. Protests in Prague and Zurich also.

Course they are. Usual suspects on here will slag Britain off (and Tories lets face it) whatever. Yes in many ways its been a u turning shit show and Boris is a buffooon but this ere Covid has caused havoc everywhere.

Chinese to blame no one else and they should be held to account by rest of the world when this is over. What a way to wreck western economies

Some folk will moan at owt. Selective in their reading and reporting because they don't like someone.

Too entrenched to see the bigger picture and the damage general ignorance, arrogance and self righteousness can cause.

Applies on both sides, TBF.
