Just spoken to a neighbour whilst out. She went (party of 6 if I understood correctly) to an ale house at the weekend, where one of the part had to leave details.

Weren't all from same household, so shouldn't have been together I dont think, but at least details were gathered.

Then onto curry cottage. No details requested, absolutely rammed. Really is no wonder restrictions are coming back.

When they close the pubs and eateries altogether no doubt owners and punters wil be complaining again.

Those moaning the loudest about it seem to be the ones that were not adhering to any of the guidance anyway. The vicious circle of numb fuckery and further restrictions will only continue I think.

Racing at Doncaster now behind closed doors after today.

Funny one this. Test events under super tight guidelines and monitoring will need to happen at some point.

Just doesnt seem the right time at the moment.

Do th'orses run faster with a cheering crowd?

Just been speaking to the landlady of our village club, her take on it is that the Government won't actually close the pubs/clubs down, as they'd potentially have to start the furlough scheme again. She reckons they'll just make it so that it's not worth opening up, all this "two households" bit for inside, really isn't going to work properly. On a Friday night, I usually meet my two pals down the club, and we have a good old sesh, under the new rules, we can't really do that now (well we can, but one will have to sit on a separate table that's just to the side. She's already done some rough sums in her head, based on who generally is down there on a Friday evening, and she reckons she doesn't have enough tables and/or space to accommodate everybody. if it's decent weather, no prob, we can go outside, if it's grim weather, then she'll potentially have to start turning people away.

I really wish this was all over, or looked like we might have an end in sight, but it looks like it's here to stay for a while yet. I really fear for the future of my village local

Not able to do takeaway food or carry out ale to supplement reduced numbers?

They don't do food, so no chance on that.

Carry out ale is possible, but in reality, if people are drinking at home then they'll surely just buy from the supermarket/cornershop which would be far cheaper, plus of course the main part of a pub, certainly in a village like the one I live in is for community/socialising, if you're not allowed in, then that will slowly start to die, as people will just get used to being at home (where they will probably invite mates around, against Government advice, and round and round we go again)

Coffers were empty before round one. But agree no further furlough and the economic slide is about to begin in ernest.

I hope and pray it isn’t as bad as I fear.

I have a feeling it's going to be absolutely terrible, but I'm only basing that on the industry that I'm involved in, already we're seeing customers defaulting on payment and getting rid of staff, who they've had on furlough for the last 4 or 5 months. The only customers that we have that seem to be bucking the trend, as those involved with EV, and they're flying....which is good, but sadly it's not going to pick up the slack from everybody else

This is exactly what we're up against - selfish young cunts that think they're above and beyond the law. They should lock the cunt up for a few months, set an example...

The government warned people that they could be fined £1,000 for breaking quarantine rules. If its a 6 months in prison offence the govt need to say that to deter people

I went through town at 8pm last night - The York, Balmoral, Swan, Elephant and Castle, Yates all shut at that time.Maybe having to close at 10pm isnt worth them opening at all

It's not worth any pub staying open just to do takeaway beer.

As for the economy, November is going to be a bloodbath. I hadn't realised how many people are still on furlough but my guess is that they will simply go from that to the dole queue at the end of october.

According to official stats there are still over 8 MILLION people on furlough!!!

Some thin Christmases coming up
