Site Supporter only1swanny Posted September 19, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted September 19, 2020 Wearing masks has massively reduced general handwashing etc. Go in the supermarket at loads walk straight past the hand/trolley clean station. Going through gallons of the stuff in work still.

Schools will be last on list to remove, indoor mixing will go first I think, indoor catering and entertainment will get booted before schools. By the way; this 'ere "upsurge" https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/healthcare A month ago, there were 523 being treated in hospital in England, yesterday 988. As thing isn't going away, and the first lockdown was to protect the NHS, which coped easily (respect to all) then we are a long way way from there. It's gonna be a lot higher than in a few weeks if the rest of NW follows Bolton's trend for hospitalisations, as they are doing for cases. Boltons cases have been dropping for a few days, so hopefully hospitalisations will plateau in a week or

I encourage tasers and batons. Oh and I do see the irony that we have fuck all of a police force these days to enforce it. To those that say why bother I kind of see their skewed view but you have to realise we can't just say fuck the old folk. They have worked their entire lives and deserve helping, many older folk are still helping others less fortunate and are fit, healthy and willing to support their community day in day out. Seems our generation and younger don't give a fuck.

I would say we might need a reset for a week to clear the minds of the idiots but I think we are past that now.

Even if number were higher, there would still be too much for them to cover. I reckon the presence of a few military personnel might focus a few minds. Aye, and the crime rate and population is the same too, as is the number of unrecorded crimes by folk who are fed up of asking for help and not getting it. It has grown for sure. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/populationestimates/articles/overviewoftheukpopulation/mar2017/previous/v1 Just had a browse through this. Population has increased by around 8 million in those two decades, with roughly (going off the graph) a quarter of that as a result of net migration. That’s a lot, and isn't sustainable, nor allows infrastructure and public services to keep up with such a rate of increase. Also inevitable that as density increases, so will certain crimes, and illnesses, further stretching resources.

Those 10mill are concentrated in large towns and cities in exactly the way they are in every other inhabited country. Not quite that simple is it. As population is predominantly within conurbations, by definition the area/distance between them in big countries is larger. Somewhere like Britain, travel distance is shorter so spread is easier. I didn't know until a comment on the bbc, that Britons commute to work more than any other European nation. Not sure what exactly that meant, but I think it meant travelling outside of your town to work. Hence more likely to spread a disease.
