Face masks could be giving people Covid-19 immunity, researchers suggest

Mask wearing might also be reducing the severity of the virus and ensuring that a greater proportion of new infections are asymptomatic

Problem is, squaddies aren't prepared or trained for this. We really are in the shit if we need troops on the streets.

They do quite well abroad in keeping the peace.

OK, its different, but I think they're more capable of doing a job than given credit for.

Cheers for this.

Very interesting. Also informative little diagrams as to the effect of wearing a mask on spread of droplets.

A College Runner Is Still Struggling With Symptoms Months After COVID-19 Diagnosis

Natalie Hakala has a PR of 2:17 for the 800 meters. Now she gets winded walking to the couch.

Sister in law has been told she has "long covid". Essentially, like this lass, long protracted symptoms. Fortunately not as bad.

Makes intuitive sense. Be interesting to see what further research shows.

Viral load is hugely important. That's why a disproportionately high number of ICU staff died at the outset of COVID.

Presumably that would also have some relevance to other respiratory illnesses like flu etc?

Often seen Japs etc wearing them pre pandemic- maybe with good reason.
