That’s not what I took from it mate. I took it was 6 months. If we don’t get and stay below 1 more sanctions

Just rewound it and its actually confusing. He says stronger measures will come in for 6 months if R doesnt go below 1 and stay there, but then goes on to say we can assume these new measures will last for 6 months.

Hmm.

This is all against the backdrop of a vaccine being very close, at any rate, but in the short term... fuck.

Happy Christmas

Aye we are under these for the foreseeable future. It’s better than it could’ve been so let’s hope they punish those who break the rules so those that don’t aren’t suffering for longer than absolutely necessary

Just had a message from school that someone in my daughters' year has tested positive. Any pupils who've been in close contact with the person has to self-isolate for 14 days. Out of 130-odd kids, nobody has come forward yet, so either billy-no-mates has caught the virus, or none of them fancy spending another fortnight festering in their pits.

He said on PMQ’s that if the rates allow it then of course the rules will change before 6 months

I can't see them changing this now until after christmas.

Simply because they don't trust the public to behave and quite honestly they're probably right.

Non-mask wearers (expemptions notwithstanding) should now be barred from shops full stop.
