If folk could just behave and put a cunting mask on when in indoors, wash their hands etc then we wouldn'tย need this to happen again.

But instead dickhead folk have lost the plot when small changes to normal life could really make a difference. We really are thick fuckers as a species at times.

youll be hearing of flu vaccine shortages soon

Yep. And capacity issues as well. As folk are pressured to have the flu vaccine this year, which imo is a good idea, to keep the flu burden low, the demand has sky-rocketed

Our CEO asked everyone at work to have it. Those in Head Office, go and see nursey, those of us out in the field get a free voucher for Boots. Those folk who didnโ€™t quickly book with Boots are now struggling to get an appointment

I think we can all agree thisย whole situation is just complete shitย isnโ€™t it? We all wish that the government and the people could act in a way that would mean this has limited impact on our society. But thatโ€™s just not going to happen. A society and economy which had become increasingly reliant on social interaction was always going to be impossible to protect in the current situation. Right now there is no magic bullet. There is no right way and wrong way. But there are going to be a lot of losers. Just a shit shit time that we all have to try to make the best of.

We normally get someone in to do it but are doing pharmacy vouchers this year for obvious reasons. Bet itโ€™s the same all overย

Availability of fluย jabs Is definitely an issue. My daughter is on a combination of immunosuppressant drugs. Every year our family have always been given early flu jabs for obvious reasons. This year we were initially told that none of us would be able to have the injection. Ended up having to travel to Great Ormond Street to get the jab for our daughter but have been told that the other 3 of us are unlikely to get one this year.

Plenty. Whole communities revolve around pubs, not to mention the absolute stonking adition to taxation and the economy.

Barmaids, pub cleaners, assistant managers and chefs all losing their jobs because 700 kids had parties at a university near newcaslte.ย

Im on the front line of it here and know for a fact if they close the pubs and restaurants this time it will be the end of the line for many. Then the shit will really hit the fan. See how people stick to rules when they need to put food in their kids mouths.

It's a lose - lose situation. And some people want someone to blame. Everyone you see in the media has their own unique circumstances,ย ย it'sย very difficult to see the whole picture, and to plot a path to the end because we haven't done this before.ย

I've lost a business for now. Ive lost a school friend and a work colleague (found out yesterday - 62yr old, he was very fat,ย died in the ambulance on the way to hospital, had "breathing difficulties" a few hrs before - don't know if it will be blamed on covid or not), my 15yr old sons education and job prospects look bleak. This winter isn't going to be good. But, my old dad is alive,ย my auntie in her care home is alive, my uncle in Preston is alive,ย my FIL and MIL are alive, my wife's job has been propped up by the govmt, my kids are going to school (well one is in his room isolating for a bit).ย

We will recover. ZOE is showing the number of people in the NW reporting covid symptoms asย plateauing for 2 weeks - something is causing this. ZOE has been consistently accurate since Spring. I mentioned before that I hope this doesn't get lost in the frenzy we are about to see over the next fewย weeks. Something has stopped the rise in theย  amount of folk in the NW feeling ill. That's a positive

We've done well to avoid World War 3 these last few years, so Covidย isย universal karma I suppose.

Old folks love talking about making sacrifices and that, so this is their chance.

We can build coffins in the shape of spitfires, that'll create loads of jobs.

The rest of us can power on.

Out of interest I assume everyone knows someone who has had it.ย
ย

Does anyone know anyone who has been fined for breaking the rules ?ย
ย

This is becoming increasingly polarised but whatever โ€˜sideโ€™ you are on and whatever level of restrictions you support surely the most effective thing will be to enforce the rules.ย
ย

I get the impact on the hospitality sector but we have all seen images and probably have personal stories about places ignoring the rules. Non enforcement is now leading to everyone being punished so a Covid compliant responsible bar gets punished.ย

I refer you back to my previous post. PM me pal weโ€™ll talk business, weโ€™ll make a killing so to speak.

This time next year Roddersย (if COVID/The ChinaRussianUSA trifecta/BWFC playoff heartbreak doesnโ€™t kill us) weโ€™ll be millionaires.
