I’ve worked throughout the Covid period and have noticed that in March, when this all kicked off, the roads were dead. Very few others driving around and even ‘rush hours’ were quiet. This time around, whilst not as busy as pre-covid, the roads are very much busier than the first lockdown. Have folk decided they haven’t been infected yet therefore it’s unlikely they will be?

No

Manufacturing hasnt stopped this time

Last time it did

Initially because of the unclear rules and then because measures to be 'covid safe' were being set up

Many businesses, manufacturing etc. are still operating. These people are going to go to work if their employers say they have to. Their employers are going to continue unless the government tells them they can't. That's the bottom line imo.

Companies arent staying open because the govt hasnt told them to close

The govt has told manufacturing to continue

Theres a difference

Good - that means it's doing something useful! :)

Bugs me when people have a flu jab and then complain because they felt a bit groggy for 24 hours. That's called an immune response! :)

Shit. Felt bugger all after my flu jab, other than a sore arm the day after. Does that count as an immune response?

When stupid rules are in place folk won’t follow them, such as  can walk across a golf course with your dog and family member but can’t  play golf on your own, can meet with umpteen people at home but can’t sit in a controlled environment while eating a meal in a family bubble, if curfew 8pm comes can go for a walk at 2pm while it’s busy but can’t walk at 8pm when it’s quiet on the streets, that’s 3 rules where I’d take opposite view to government rules.

Just because you don't agree with or understand a rule doesn’t make it stupid.

Its been explained plenty of times why some apparently contradictory or unequal regulations exist.

You cant meet with umpteen people at home neither.

Interestingly, MIL friend is due her second tomorrow but wasn’t going to go because her daughter heard on the tv that the second ones are cancelled. MIL checked and she can still go as planned.

Hancock announced jn the commons that the second jabs were to be deferred

That was the first the hubs knew about it

Second jabs were booked in for three days later

Local medics were told to use their own discretion

As for AZ, i think the first ones are now in bolton

Theres some cretins being offered Pfizer and saying theyd rather wait for the english one

And this is cast iron fact

The golf one is interesting. I get the frustration because in theory it shouldn’t cause anyone any problems. But... you know full well that if golf is allowed then quite rightly people will demand that their sport / activity should be allowed. And it goes on.

Plus how do we think most people get to golf clubs? They drive. Which means more people on the road and a greater chance of the emergency services being needed.

Simplest just to say that nothing is allowed.

This.

Plus would players have to go through the club house?

Lots of places with a very small chance of catching something add up.

Reducing opportunity for contact changes according to need (high cases) and vice versa.

Do as told, get numbers down.

I have heard...that a lot of GP surgeries/hubs are not planning to get anymore Pfizer vaccine as it is so hard to store so they are completing the second course.

This was from a local medical professional. Ok it was a Vet but she is good mates with local GP. Makes sense.

Makes sense, get it used up.

I posted yesterday about a bod on the radio saying that the growth in infections will not be driven by the odd high profile event. So 30k people turning up to an event has less impact than 60m people all having 2-3 extra contacts every day. It is a simple numbers game.

He was not saying the big events are not important to be clear.

They’re good enough when negotiating trade deals which suit you though.

Thick when stopping you going for a knock.

Selfish, really.

I'll considered too. The strange restrictions are created upon advice from or by sage etc. Lots of little research programmes all over the world which will feed into the decision making.

No one creates them for a joke or to deliberately harm economic activity.

Don't need to be a rocket scientist to listen and read up on why such things are done. Just easier to call those in the know thick.

Be easier to accept it if people didn’t try and justify it. It’s YOUR decision. Not because somebody else did this or did that or because you deserve it. It’s a straightforward choice nobody else is involved to try and use other people as a reason is poor form.

I don't know if they work or not, they're putting them in place in other countries so they must think they do something.

I suspect what will come in is that we're told to wear masks everywhere when not in the home, even outdoors

Curfews and wearing masks in public spaces. You sound like my “ITK” source.

Yep. Yet authorities ignore it, fine them and close them.

Can well understand it.

Even if one passes to one, that person may go home and within a couple of days a whole family is infected, before anyone knows.

Aye they refused a few times to go on their back when I lived there. Said before they would come into the village after funerals and get hammered and cause loads of bother. Police never came out at the time and never ever went on to the siteafterwards. Ended up getting self policed with a few proper handy cunts battering a load of them in the canary one night. I popped my head round the corner but thought fuck that as bar stools were raining down on folks heads.
