So by that we know about 5% have had it but that is probably nearer 10%. For example both me and the missus had it and our two kids showed no symptoms (one had a headache and one a mild fever that lasted all of about 4 hours) but must have had it too. Still some way to go but if we can get the old and vulnerable vaccinated (my mum had hers at the RMI today thankfully) then the over 60s and so on then fingers crossed we can get back so some new form of normal by the summer. My worry is the bastard keeps mutating and ends up like a fucking albatross around our necks forever more. Twatting pangolin eating, bat shagging, dog bothering wankers! 😁
Burndens Bogs
Is it just me thinks the Chinese should be held accountable for unleashing this virus on the rest of the World? Whether it was accidental or not ( i have my doubts), the Chinese should be made to compensate the rest of the world towards the billions and billions ££$$ that this virus has cost everyone. As their economy continues to grow.

Our western consumerism has made them massively powerful. They had a virus and suppressed it to their own people don't forget. It is only when things went beyond their control did they own up. But that is a communist country for you, it is the way they work at every level.
Burndens Bogs
The Chinese government covered up the virus in it’s infancy & precious time was lost. Chinese doctors who tried to raise awareness regarding the potential deadliness of the virus were either silenced or they “disappeared” Bent as fuck. Thing is, if we the west had taken it seriously we would have shut our borders sooner. We were the last (or maybe second last) to stop flights, that was our initial mistake. I hope we wont make that mistake again. But, and it is a big but... we are now in the middle of a 2nd wave much worse than the 1st. That isn't down to China or anyone else, this is our own fuck up. The letter gives ringing 119 or www.nhs.uk as the options. I tried both for my mum's appointment and ended up with a choice of Manchester or Blackburn so tried ringing her doctor's practice who gave me an appointment in Bolton for tomorrow. Wish I hadn’t. Hancock, understandably, couldn’t give any reassurances about when we will start to relax lockdown. The vaccinations committee guy basically seemed to be saying that the decision to delay Pfizer second doses until 12 weeks is a complete gamble. Tombwfc
I think the logic behind it has been explained fairly well, it'll save lives in the short term and when the disease is as widespread as it is here, you need to cover as many people as possible. But I wouldn't expect to see anything resembling normality until all the over 50s have had both.

Escobarp
Only 34% of the over 80’s been done up here. Krankie refuses to answer questions on it unsurprisingly. Another example of a shit job. Yet some folk on here think she’s great. It’s laughable. And a bit of scandal as 6 workers at a food bank near Edinburgh have been vaccinated already. Rang up and booked themselves in simple as that. Apparently all you need is the phone number. Ring it they don’t qualify you or anything and book an appointment. By virtue of having the number your accepted. It’s not gone down well especially amongst those with relatives in care homes etc

Something happens almost every day which makes me want to sack it all off just for a moment. But I reality I think if we found the vaccines didn’t work then we’d all had to rethink our strategy. For now I’ve been accepting of lockdowns with the promise of better times imminently through the vaccines. But like you say we can’t just carry on like this forever

Not in Crawley
Schools need to go back, especially secondary, they just aren't getting the same.level of teaching. I'm good until September but then the mat cover ends and if we're still not opening up live venues the business I've started is going to be tough to draw a wage from. But we've got to.keep plugging ahead. The upside is I get to see my kids much more, I'm.not spending a fortune on communting and I've got a better work life balance not being stuck.on trains and tubes running to meetings - plus get through much more work. I am fucking old and do not want to come out of lockdown till we have as close we can have a guarantee that we won't need to go back into one. What point is there in coming out if it means you can go the pub BUT only with direct family for a meal and you have a max 2 hours but only for next month when we will be back to square 1. You can not go on holiday as we still need travel restrictions in the UK, foreign holidays a no no. The only suggestion that the vaccines do not work relates to new variants and that is so far ' not proven they do'. It really is a case of doing this properly so we do not need to do it again. Will Boris stand up to his MPs to ensure this ? I doubt it
Sweep
I'm with you Ani, I'm quite happy to stay under current restrictions for another 6 months if needs be, if that's what it takes. I'd certainly rather not be going into another lockdown again later on the year purely because we've left this one to early. We can only how the vaccine works, and that those who we chose to Govern actually make the right decisions
