I’m now in the @Mounts Kipper school of thinking that it should be every man for himself and survival of the fittest.

Its very liberating and whilst I hope no-one catches it and dies, it’s just luck of the draw.

Dont forget me when you update your wills as you gasp for air you doddery owd fuckers.

You'll be dead first you miserable middle aged piss flap

All my elderly relatives are dead

It’s only my social conscience stopping me from being one of the Crack On mob.

So loads of oldies die who were on the last knockings? Big deal, not my problem.

If anything it’ll trim the over populated country and free up loads of inheritance tax and boost things for us younger types.

i was thinking the same how much is the government saving

90k deaths say

80k on pensions @£120 a week that's some saving

Also infections down 25% and week on week deaths down. We now fighting this fucking thing on both sides .

Aye, so why provide it with new opportunities

The countries currently cracking on are those who got on top of it and suppressed the virus

That's the only way to do it

Otherwise you're spinning plates

Cracking on will only drag this on and on

That much is clearly evident from the last 12 months

I don't like lockdown as much as the next person, I also don't like living on what feels like a yo yo, get it done properly now, whatever it takes

Only 34% of the over 80’s been done up here. Krankie refuses to answer questions on it unsurprisingly. Another example of a shit job. Yet some folk on here think she’s great. It’s laughable.

And a bit of scandal as 6 workers at a food bank near Edinburgh have been vaccinated already. Rang up and booked themselves in simple as that. Apparently all you need is the phone number. Ring it they don’t qualify you or anything and book an appointment. By virtue of having the number your accepted. It’s not gone down well especially amongst those with relatives in care homes etc

Seen this thread earlier mate, which was retweeted from last year and am asking your advice on it as you and London Wanderer get the daily news up there, which we are not privy to due to not defecting  😉

Are there many truths in it mate ? Like I say, I've no idea and it would take too long researching each and every single claim.

Saw Wee Nippy on the Marr Show this morning, crikey, more bags under her eyes and avoidance of questions than soft Mick (Brown) 😉

When you sleep tonight soft bollocks, i'll take part of your roof off, creep through the loftspace, and pour a continuous test-tube full of Holts Lager through the ceiling straight into your miserable big moaning gob in the style of the abominable Dr Phibes ....don't have nightmares 😜

I’m ok with that.

Fancy doing a bit of pointing whilst you’re up there?

A few more months then

What about 12 months?

Whataboutery. Its one of your favourite words...

Why on earth would we be in lockdowns etc in 12 months time? Everyone should be well and truly vaccinated by then.

Travel restrictions though; perfectly possible, certainly to some places. That's what you advocated about Brazil, so until more is known about their (and the SA) strain, and how well we're protected, dont expect complete free travel for some time.

I read that thread at the time I remember it from The first bit. It’s obviously highlighting one side of the argument but it’s got some truth in it. There have been other things done which have been positive though. But overall her halo is slipping although my missus mate is an ardent SNP supporter and she was on FaceTime the other night and I made a joke about krankie and she ended the call moody bitch 🤣

No doubt some good and back decisions made by devolved and UK governments in all this. Just dont quite get the "competition" bit that seems to creep in from time to time.

Make the decisions they think are right, then alter them as necessary. Learn from others where they can.

As 2 of the ones who love lockdowns (yeah, i know you dont, but humour me) just when would you say, oh fuck it, this is no life

Lets just accept we have to all take our chances

Theres no guarantee theres not something else round the corner

There's a clear plan and (I believe) an end in sight. A lockdown to stop the spread, mass vaccinations and tight border controls to keep out mutations. It's all doable. If the new normal is that you can't go on holiday for the next few years without quarantining & testing negative, then so be it.

I think that by far the best chance of having genuine, lasting normality is to follow that through to the end.

What I don't think anyone has ever provided, is how cracking on would actually mean we could all crack on. Surely you accept that the way the numbers were going in November and December, was completely unsustainable? And that was with restrictions.

And if you're wrong?

Obvs, i hope to god youre not

Then we'd obviously be pretty fucked. And need a Plan B.

More hospitals? Conscripting people to work in the NHS? Dunno, but either way it wouldn't look anything close to life pre-2020.

Getting to a point where people aren't filling up hospitals with COVID is the quickest, and arguably only route back to normal. I'm open to other suggestions.

From where we are now, this is the road
