Wait until the 21st June, #TeamBoris will be finished if he doesn't open up fully.

I'm #TeamFuckingNobody at the moment, shit opposition, back tracking politicians, in fact Mr Personality himself, Chris Whitty is running this country at the moment, and of he fully had his way, we'd be locked down for the foreseeable.

Genuinely not sure where you get the idea that things aren’t going to be fully open on 21st June? Maybe cabin fever has got to you.

hope you can be trusted to be out amongst the general public for beers 😎

I think it’ll probably linger around a couple thousand cases every day now as these surges crop up.

Hospitalisations and deaths stay low and we’re golden.

Im getting jabbed tomorrow. Proper excited.

Have you volunteered for this mixed vaccine programme?

Get monitored etc, and scientists seem to reckon it should be better than having the same one twice.

Any new variants appeared today ?

..... thought not 🤔

Nightmare scenes of a country struggling to cope have begun to emerge as doctors speak of a new variant of the virus that appears to be spreading faster than ever before, affecting young people and even children this time around and pushing India’s healthcare system to the brink of collapse.

....

Over the weekend bodies piled up outside the government hospital in Raipur, in the state of Chhattisgarh, because the hospital had “not expected so many people to die at once” from coronavirus and could not cremate them fast enough. In Surat, in the state of Gujarat, crematoriums became so overwhelmed with coronavirus victims that families began burning their dead on open ground.

“This sheer tsunami of cases has already overwhelmed the healthcare infrastructure in the state,” said Dr Shashank Joshi, a member of the Mumbai Covid taskforce. “This time we are seeing younger people between 20 and 40 getting seriously affected and even children are now being hospitalised with severe symptoms. The capacity for the healthcare system to hold on is fast dwindling.”

In other variants, the L452R mutation has been shown to make the virus more transmissible. There is also evidence that antibodies don't recognize that mutation, which has been found in other strains to reduce the effectiveness of vaccines.

The E484Q mutation has also been shown to be less susceptible to neutralizing antibodies, which help fight the coronavirus. It's still too early to tell if the mutation makes the virus more contagious.

Exactly fella, still waiting for it.

For what?

A new variant?

How often do they occur?

No one knows as most countries can't analyse the virus to find out.

Not sure what point you're trying to make, but I'm very glad I live here at the moment.
