No lockdown in Scotland. Arse and elbow springs to mind. Shambles but pub remains on Friday night now thankfully (for now)

She sounds resigned to having to be sensible

Just speaking to a friend who is currently on Anglesy

"The Welsh are mad"

They are talking about quarantining anyone for 14 days who comes fom England, for any reason.

It's a very leaky border and the A483 (I think) criss-crosses a number of times

Bit like ireland

Should be easy to control

I'm convinced bozo is going to go lockdown

I don't recall defending him. At least for a very long time.

We locked down in massive uncertainty, with an estimated 100,000 cases/day

Different position at the moment.

Hopefully the powers won't panic

Delightful thread

Just reduce close contacts in poorly ventilated areas as much as possible. Viruses can't tell the difference between Hawksmoor and Charnock Richard bogs. Spend time indoors without a mask on in a room with loads if others and your risk goes up.

What about time on a football stand with adequate social distance (because we are massive) and pints delivered to your seat.

Low risk.

I reckon some pubs / restaurants will have sorted that though to a degree, maybe

Yep definately - all the evidence shows the chance of catching it outside in a well ventilated area, distanced, masks on, is miniscule in comparison to indoors no mask. I've been to pubs/restaurants that have outdoor seating, covered booths, outdoor heating lamps -  you'd have to put your coat on and it might be windy - but they should be open all night if they want to, and can police it well, they're doing it in NY

https://www.dezeen.com/2020/09/29/open-restaurants-program-new-york-city-outdoor-dining-coronavirus/

The prevelance of infection in the NW is getting close to 1 in 100 per week, acording to ZOE.

The largest  portion of the infected include the  pub-going age youngsters,  so it will likley be around or over 1 in 100 teenage - 25yr olds catching it every week -  a third or more of them never know they have it, so arent isloating, and a load of them dont find out they do have it for a few days.

Spend any length of time indoors, without a mask on, in the wrong building over the next few weeks and your chance of getting infection is a lot higher than it's been for donkeys.

It's a load of dog shit pal. fucking hate it. My business that took me years to build up has gone to shit, no-one is buying anything and I'm owed thousands - I've got a 15yr old son sat in his bedroom for 2 weeks, his education is going down the swanny, the other one who wants to be a pro footballer has played 1 football match since March, my missues is doing the work of 8 people, Not seen my auntie in her care home for 6 months, My sister's moved out of the area to protect my dad (she was living with him), so I've seen my niece once since Spring,  my Dad is on his own 99% of the day and deteriorating, I've fallen out with my brother, not spoken to him in weeks because of this bollocks, cant go to the match or even watch the kid play, utter shite, worst year ever by far. big load of hairy donkey testicles.

95% of what I sell is to businesses with offices, they're either not buying, empty, going out of business themselves, or reducing office staff/ office premises, so almost impossible to sell anything at the moment, a few customers have already gone zip, owing money, some others arent paying bills.

Shitty numbers today. More "glitches" or is it genuinely back on the up?

Based on @peelyfeet posts above, it's genuinely going to cause real social issues this if it carries on.

I'm fucking sick to death of it and I'm one of the fortunate ones who is busy with work and have no cause to bleat in truth. But I feel for people who are being put on their arse.

I still say we lock up the vulnerable and those who claim they can't wear a mask, whilst the rest of us crack on.

Get the travel industry back open, hospitality.

If you have to shield, you have to shield. Shit, but we may be at the point where the greater good is more important.

Then we'll see how fucking hard it is for asthmatics to put some paper over their mincing faces.
