Mounts Kipper
Just checked there’s 15 confirmed cases in Lancashire yet there’s 1000s self isolating. Think many folk taking the piss. We've had one down here suggesting that crushing 8 cloves of garlic in a coffee mug, covering with boiling water for 5 minutes then drinking the resulting brew will ward it off. Must be based on the 'no fucker will come near you' theory.

Just nutjobs making stuff up no doubt. I'll watch for empty garlic spaces at the greengrocers and battles in the vitamin aisles of supermarkets. I thought he'd been misquoted at first, but he did say it. Indeed. He's also saying to achieve that we all need follow the rest of his advice in regards to extreme social distancing for vulnerable groups, self-isolating, working from home, avoiding the pub etc. etc. And we'll be doing this on and off for months until well into 2021. Casino (and Mounts) are sceptical of most of those measures, yet they're predicting even less cases and less deaths. I'm genuinely interested what that confidence is based on. (Not all I might add) That’s confirmed cases, they are only testing folk in hospitals, estimate is 50k nationally have it now We had one guy on here who had all the symptoms but wasn’t in hospital so hadn't been tested, he’s probably had it but not in the 15 I think Vitamin D is just generally good for your immune system rather than being a cure for the virus

He did make a valid point in saying that the majority of the 20k would be double counted in that they have underlying health issues and they will have been within the 620k bracket. The 20k number is the best case scenario if we lock down like Italy, Spain, France and smash the economy to pieces If we let it run its 250k, some of which will be indirect deaths (heart attacks but can’t get into a hospital etc)

One of my mates works for a cell door company, Cell Security, and got a phone call on his way home last Friday that he had to self quarantine as the cell he’d just been working on was holding a Corona Virus positive prisoner. Bloody hilarious, he’s always in the pub, gutted the lad 😄

Lt. Aldo Raine
Anyway, for the sake of my own sanity if nothing else, I'm choosing to believe that the world's collective scientific expertise will find a way to treat coronavirus in the weeks and months to come. That's how people will die You'll be fine though, particularly if you up your vitamin D intake But you're not at risk or trying to save the lives of those who are, so crack on

I have an operation tomorrow so we might slip into the at risk category, but I’ve got my vitamin D stashed in case. 😂 Edited March 18, 2020 by Mounts Kipper
