If it wasn't Xmas, would there be a 5 day relaxation period? Does "the science" say a 5-day blowout will be good for the country? Why were large ethnic areas effectively closed down with no notice prior to Eid? Without wishing to appear over dramatic, this WILL kill people. Site Supporter Spider Posted November 25, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted November 25, 2020 Vaccine all but ready. Everyone done by Easter. So a few more oldies get potted? They’re going soon anyway. And that’s it after April, so it’s just like conceding a couple more goals when you’re already 6 down in the 88th minute. Theres more important things to worry about now like Brexit and getting to the Costa del Sol.

Tombwfc
The idea that you'd spend a year in various degrees of lockdown, and then have a massive blowout on the eve of a vaccine coming is farcical. Be a lot of people with relatives in ICU in January blaming the government.

And they've worked all this out in fine detail. Then I take one look at the state of prick in charge, remember he can barely dress himself and think, maybe not. Fuck em True. Our family funerals are usually all day, booze sozzled affairs. Last one at the start of all this bollox, 10 of us in, fucked off home straight from Overdale without even a cheese and a pickled onion on a cocktail stick, never mind a pint

I remember saying that a national 2nd lockdown was wrong, given the variance of infection across the country. I remember saying that the first lockdown might be viewed as the greatest failure Difficult to say until it’s all over. Many critics of the Govt are in general agreement with the Govt’s strategy. As ever, happy to be proven wrong I remember you also criticised Sturgeon and Drakeford for implementing a short firebreak lockdown in October. Boris then put England in a longer one a couple of weeks later. The earlier short lockdowns were definitely the correct measure.

A valid opinion, which may turn out to be correct. Or not.

Sorry but they have definitely helped to reduce peoples contact and infection rates so therefore were the correct decision. Otherwise why did Boris follow suit two weeks later ? captainmed
I would start the vaccination from the youngest to eldest. The oldies, especially 80+ have had lived their life and are a massive drain on the NHS. Its about the kids pure and simple. They have lost out so fcukin much over these last few months. Not sure the youngsters need it as much as those slightly older but not yet “old”. I’d start with those around 58 and then every man for himself. birch-chorley
Pointless giving it to kids, as good as immune from any serious consequences Only benefit is it stops them spreading it and helps us reach ‘herd immunity’ The vulnerable group is supposed to be 15m strong, I imagine half of the risk to the NHS will be driven by the most vulnerable 5m of those. Get them vaccinated ASAP and the numbers requiring hospitalisation will fall off a cliff - hopefully this side of Christmas ready for the ‘massive blowout’ I’d give NHS staff and Care workers a vaccination also to be fair, they are susceptible to high viral loads so they over index in the serious cases from the ‘non vulnerable’ groups

Schools are one big petri dish. It's no coincidence that the second wave kicked off when kids went back to school. I'd do kids first, the little feckers are all in one space, so you'd rattle through them in no time.
